I have stayed at aloha cottages over a dozen times The cottages are rustic and yes appliances are old ... It's Hana ! The setting the view the great location all outweigh any of that for me ! Clean bed , and great shower , and a fridge for snacks all we need Beautiful trees outside and the big full...

Over the phone, Mrs. Nakamura was nice and accommodating. When we checked-in we were welcomed warmly by her. She even offered us to use her little rice cooker. We have read reviews about her husband being rude to other guests, but we thought we will be treated differently because we're locals. But NO! On our first morning, when they both...

It is fantastic!! I loved Aloha Cottages. I'll start this review by saying that this could have gone a whole different way. When looking for a place in Hana, I called a few different places and Aloha Cottages didn't return any calls, I just had to keep trying them. I had seen from prior posts that it was an older...

By being inexpensive you know you are not getting 5 star hotel service. That being said, it is a room, a clean bed, kitchen, and local flavor. They work hard at keeping the place clean and hospitable. The place is centrally located and easy to get to. Where locals would stay.

Block from black sand beach that the cabin overlooks. A short walk down to the beach park. Very rustic and basic. Clean and presented as an old fishing cabin. Adventurous need only consider and cash only. Snobs should keep on driving. The owners are very welcoming.

The hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Nakamura are very sweet (though sometimes a little hard to reach by phone). Upon arrival, they gave us fresh picked bananas and papaya which was excellent. The location is excellent, walking distance to the beach. My sister and I stayed in cottage 73 which was downstairs with 2 twin beds and parking space right outside...

Aloha Cottages are well maintained, but haven't had a facelift in many years. So expect almost every facility you could ask for (we had veranda, kitchen, dining area, sitting room area, microwave, hob, small oven etc etc) but some rust on metal fittings. The main areas seemed clean but there were cobwebs in the high shelf of the bedroom closet....

This place isn't romantic or trendy, but it's how real people, people who aren't wealthy live. We moved from Mrs. Nakamura's place to the Hana Maui after our reservations there began, but actually preferred the ambiance of Mrs. Nakamura's little place. We'd return any time.

We were lucky to find this place which is run by a old gentle couple. It's very close to Hana bay which has the old budget dinner option that's open post 7 PM! The place was clean & the only item my wife didn't like was the towels which were pretty hard. There's a close my Thai place which is...

We luckily got in at the very last minute, the weekend of the East Maui Taro Fest. I called the number on a whim just to get a price for reference and they had a cancellation. Sweet! I put my credit card number down to hold the room, and you pay her cash when checking in at the office, which...
