Just got back from a great stay at Huelo Point Lookout. It's the kind of place you stay in and wish you could own. The views from both floors are amazing, we spent many nights star gazing and we woke to beautiful sunrises every morning. The owners were very friendly and the house is well appointed. Unfortunately, we came during...

"Aloha" Jake - it was such fun to have you all here, to see a family vacationing together! You certainly didn't let the grass grow under your feet - you must have seen the whole island a couple of times at least! Come back in Summer - the BEST time to be on Maui's north shore, as we're pretty well...

My boyfriend and I came and stayed 6 days at the Rainbow Lookout. The accommodations were perfect for what we were looking for. Peace and quiet was what we needed and that's just what we got. The house was located in a very quiet area and had all the amenities we needed. We loved staring up at the stars through...

Bless you Tusia - you and Ted were such lovely guests. We really enjoy seeing the right people end up in the right place, and we know for SURE you'll be back. Maui is calling, right? Big hugs, Sharyn

Huelo Point is a lovely, peaceful spot. We stayed in the Rainbow Cottage, which is beautiful and looks out on the garden of native plants and trees. It was a great spot to spend a few days and do day trips--one to the crater, one to the beaches in Paia. The Rainbow Cottage is perfect for a family of four,...

Thank you for being delightful guests, Shannon! So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Jeff is still totally in awe of Todd's bicycle attack all the way UP, then down, Mt Haleakala! Wow! :)Sharyn

This place is like how you imagine Hawaii would be when you think paradise. The cottage is rustic, quaint, about as private as you could get and on a stunning property. For those looking to get away and relax, this is your spot. We stayed in Star and it was a really neat cottage with a full fridge, choice of...

Star is one of our personal favorites! And I LOVE that tree - many memories attached, or our little guy (now 19) growing up and climbing to its very top! So glad you guys enjoyed this sweet place too! :)Sharyn

We stayed here for four nights. We arrived on a night when a wild, windy, rainstorm occurred. We wondered if our house would be blown off the coast. But the weather changes quickly here and within another day the skies were blue and the sun was out. We stayed in the ocean lookout house. The views are spectacular on a...

Delighted that you guys enjoyed Ocean Lookout! That top lanai, with its view all the way to Hana, is the PERFECT place to spend a morning - especially during whale season! And our new cliffside walk is totally spectacular! :)S

We had a FANTASTIC time at the Huelo Point Lookout House. The House itself was amazing -- with ocean views, incredible sunsets and a refreshing breeze coming in from the sea. Although there were four of us, the House was so spacious it could've held more. Located near the start of the Road to Hana, it's the perfect spot if...

"Aloha" John & crew - you guys were spectacularly active & adventurous guests! Love to see people really getting out and exploring (and appreciating) our beautiful island! And a special 'mahalo' for leaving my house in such good shape! We look forward to your return visit! Blessings, Sharyn

As close to paradise on this earth as one could find. The hosts are wonderful and share their knowledge of what to do and where to go. The accomodation is impeccable with everything anyone could ever need. The welcome flower arrangement, a very nice chilled bottle of wine and a starter breakfast kit are beyond expectations. We will definitely return...

I first stayed in the Haleakala cottage five years ago, and had a wonderful time. Returning again to Maui I wanted to stay in the same place. I want to go again soon! The owners' pictures of the property paint a true representation of what to expect. The location of Huelo Point is about 14 miles east from the center of Paia Town which is the nearest center of attraction. It takes about 30 minutes *without* traffic to get there. Also, Paia has the closest gas station so be mindful of this when...

I don't think Trip Advisor existed when my wife an I stayed at Huelo Point back in September 1997. I still remember many details. It was great to see the pictures and bring back even more memories. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Huelo Point Lookout offers a four unique choices - one 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home and 3 cottage style accommodations. We're very much for the alternative, independent type of traveler who loves the freedom of being able to prep his/her own meals and just relax into the island vibe (and saving a little money along the way). We've been offering our 'aloha' since 1994, and are a legally permitted business (permit # BBPH 0015/2009) so your reservation is always guaranteed to be secure. This is Maui's north shore - the 'real' Maui, not just the 'hotel' version ... A perfect place to experience 'living' here, rather than just making a flying visit. Maui is gorgeous! Take the time to enjoy it! ... more   less
