The Westin Princeville is well located and surrounded by lush greenery. The views are incredible and is certainly a very good hotel to base yourself at in Kauai!
The rooms are very nice and have good amenities. They are well sized - try to get...More
Grounds/views/pool are stunning. Rooms are large with floor to ceiling windows. Beds were comfortable. I felt like I was in paradise waking up to the views of the ocean and mountains. Princeville/Hanalei is truly Fantasy Island! Service at front desk was outstanding. Natalie was our...More
This was my very first time visiting Kauai so I can honestly tell you I had no idea what to expect. I usually go Maui about once a year so decided to try a different island entirely. I wish I had stuck with Maui instead....More
We stayed here in a studio last month and would definitely come back! Great location, close to Hanalei which is our favorite town. We definitely prefer Princeville to Poipu. Loved the convenience of having a mini-kitchen and laundry in the room. We tried BBQ’ing one...More
We booked our stay at the Westin Princeville via a package with Alaska Airlines Vacations, so we got a deal on the airfare (non-stop from Seattle) and the hotel. We've stayed at Westin properties before, so we knew what to expect, and our high expectations...More

Kauai 'the wet Garden Island' should be drier in May, though even if it rains that day, the skies WILL clear for part of the day :-) No snorkle gear rentals at the resort. Nor at the Beach access at the St. Regis (take towels and the shuttle). The nearest safe snorkle lplace is at Anini Beach directly below to Resort, a bit of a steep hike - best to drive to the beach.
Back to snorkle gear .. on the way out to the Resort from Lihue airport there are rental shops, that will rent you equipment by the hour or by the week :-) If you do alot of snorkeling during your stay, consider a visit to Costco, near the airport, and buy equipment (around $50.00 each set) you can leave or donate them when you depart. at the end of your stay you can leave/donate the snokle equipment. There are also rental places in Hanalei, just beyond the resort..where you can rent , all water activity items, including Kayaks .. It may still be a little early in the season to consider snorkeling at Tunnels beach - at the end of the road. (rather rough and unsafe conditions in Winter and Spring- If so, consider a 45 minute drive to the south-end and snorkle at Poipu Beach. ALOHA!
