We stayed in #17 and were extremely happy with both the unit and the premises overall. Being in a crater means that you are away from the otherwise somewhat busy Poipu resort area. The secluded location meant that we had our peace and quiet in lush and beautiful surroundings, which we deeply enjoyed (especially when sitting on the deck). The two-storey layout of the unit provided privacy for both those who stayed upstairs and those who stayed downstairs. The unit was in very good condition. It was also great that the owner provided all kinds of beach equipment, e.g. chairs, lots of towels, toys for kids and even a board for body surfing. They provided a bottle of wine as a welcome gift as well as a "starter kit" with coffee, creamer and condiments. Poipu is a convenient location, easily accessible from Lihue airport and a good base for day trips to both the North Shore and Waimea Canyon. We would definitely recommend Poipu Crater Resort!

1st time visiting Kauai and stayed in unit #17. This unit is at the bottom of the crater and sourrounded by trees. The complex was super quiet...almost ghost like! It is perfect if you are a quiet couple but we were travelling with teenagers. Being in the crater the sound would carry! The unit was comfortable, a bit dated but it had a well stocked kitchen. Beach chairs & towels were also handy to have there. Beach distance was walkable but not if you carting your beach supplies for the day. Location wasn’t ideal for us but it woud be for some. Having access to the athletic club was great but we didn’t realize it was a good 20 minute walk!

This is our third stay at Poipu Crater and the unit we stayed in this time was by far the best of the three. Modern appliances, well equipped kitchen, TV in both bedrooms as well as the living room Poipu Crater is a lovely, central place to stay

We rented unit 29 through vrbo. Condo was ready for us on arrival and there was even a bottle of wine in the fridge for us. Nice lanai on the front side of the condo. The condo was nicely stocked, good cookware and even a coffee grinder. This was a two bedroom condo with one bedroom upstairs and one with twin beds downstairs. There were beach chairs and boogie boards. Our only problem was the smoke detector in unit 30 that wen off ALL NIGHT long our last night. We were finally able to find someone to notify at 8 in the morning before we left for the airport. Other than that, this was a nice, restful condo.

Great condo for the four of us. Lots of space, comfortable beds, and a well-stocked kitchen. Lush, beautiful gardens surrounding the condos and pool. The pool was clean and not at all crowded. These condos are not right on the water - but they are only a short walk from several beaches. There is no AC - but with the breezes, we didn't it.
