We love this resort! This was our second stay at Koloa Landing and we were even more impressed than before. It's large enough to offer lots of wonderful amenities, but not so big that you feel lost. It is not beachfront, but Poipu Beach is just an easy 5-10 minute walk away. I understand that the hotel has a complimentary shuttle service, but we didn't use it.

The landscaping is beautiful and the 3 pools are fabulous: a small adults only pool with a hot tub, a nice medium size pool with a hot tub and an absolutely awesome large family pool complete with slides, waterfalls and 2 hot tubs.

We stayed in a very nice large studio room equipped with everything you could want or need: a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, 2 burners and all the dinnerware and cooking supplies you need; and a washer and dryer, which we especially appreciated since we were in the middle of a long trip.

The customer service was exceptional: friendly, helpful and welcoming. In recognition of our Anniversary, we were given coupons for 2 additional complimentary drinks and upgraded to an Ocean View room, where we found a very nice fruit arrangement in the refrigerator. If you desire, the resort will stock your refrigerator with food and drinks, which will be charged to your room account.

One day, I dropped my room key while we were obtaining pool towels at the central kiosk. As my husband passed the towel kiosk en route to the front desk to get replacement keys, he was stopped by the towel attendant, Chanel, who recognized him and returned the lost key. This level of personal attention to detail is remarkable.

I monitored a number of websites over several months, but the lowest rate I found was on the hotel website, where I booked a special AAA rate that included a $30 per day food and beverage credit. We used the credit for breakfast, which was delicious. (I absolutely loved the banana macadamia nut pancakes!) Self-parking was free, which was a nice bonus.

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel. We will definitely be back!

The good: This hotel is beautiful. The grounds are lush and tropical. Pool is gorgeous and huge. Entire property impeccably maintained.

Check in: a breeze. No lines. We were given lovely leis.

Room: oh so dark and drab. Size was acceptable, but certainly smaller than we expected, and definitely would be too small for more than 2 people. Furniture was ugly and basic. Barely any color in the room. Even a fake plant (like bathroom) would have brought some much needed ambiance. Our first floor room looked right onto the parking lot and we had to keep our shades drawn as any passerby could look directly into our room. We booked through Priceline, and even though we paid almost $500 per night, we appeared to be punished for it. Even though bathroom was tiny, washer/dryer in there was much appreciated.

Food: we ate breakfast at Holoholo every morning and it was pretty good. My daughter loved Taro french toast. I thought their bacon was delicious. Some days they seemed understaffed and one morning we waited about 30 minutes after ordering. Our food was brought completely cold as it clearly had been sitting there for 20 minutes. Not good when we paid $50 for some pancakes and eggs.

As mentioned, property is beautiful. Box of chocolates in room was a nice treat. If you can afford it, do not get a studio. Go for the larger room, and try NOT to get a ground floor room.

It's delightful to know that our beautiful property impressed you! However, we were sorry to hear that your were disappointed in your Studio room. Our Studios are similar to a typical hotel room of about 475 square feet. They feature a kitchenette and washer dryer and come stocked with all the dishware and appliances you would need. Our 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas are much larger and it sounds like that is what you were looking to experience. Our team works hard to ensure all our studios and villas are immaculate and well-equipped, so your situation is not typical nor reflective of what we are known to provide. We will consider your comments carefully as we seek to improve our services for the benefit of future guests. We know we can provide you with a comfortable, relaxing experience, and we are eager to earn a second chance from you to do so. Mahalo, Andy Evers General Manager

KL is nice but does not feel like a luxury resort. Pools/grounds are nice and well-maintained. There are drinks and food at the pool but service was super spotty (I think because they had ONE bartender for way too many people). We were in a 1 bed villa and it had a washer/dryer and kitchen which was handy and they put a crib and high chair in our room as requested. The hotel is walkable to The Shops at Kukui‘ula, which has plenty to eat and buy. All in all a fine experience, but it felt like a condo complex and not a resort, though I will say that all of the people that worked there were very pleasant. The main reason I came away disappointed is that, while I knew this hotel wasn't "beachfront", I understood from reading reviews that they had ocean view rooms. I even emailed the hotel and asked for a good view after paying extra to book a "Coastline View" room. While they gave themselves an out in their response, "not guaranteed, etc." they did promise to get us the best possible view. Well, the view was a sliver of the ocean and the room was really dark inside even midday. It really took away from my experience, especially after spending $600/night. They DO have rooms that face the ocean but I have no idea how you get those because the Coastline option is the only one available at booking. All that to say, do NOT expect a good view here. I paid a premium for zero benefit, which was disappointing but I should have expected (hence not docking them for it).

Conveniently located to Poipu beach/ shopping area.
Location: All the hotels is basically on one street. Easy 10mins to the Grand Hyatt if you have a conference or dinner reservation at Tidepools. I won't advise walking, no clear pedestrian area.
Staff: Friendly and courteous. House keeping did an amazing job, if you don't want to be disturb for that 8am clean just put a sign on the door. Ppl are on vacation 8 am is simply too early.
Room: set up is similar to condo in which you have all your necessities such as a kitchen area with a mini cook top, refrigerator, microwave, laundry which includes washer/ dryer. Comfy bed, patio area, elevator building and a great AC unit.
Family oriented premises: yes, nice pool for kids and a few hot tubs for adults to relax.
With the above mention, we went to the local supermarket and bought beers, water, and snacks and stored it in our room. This definitely saves money, esp if you travel with a family.
Restaurant: Food at the hotel was a lil pricey. I would say to venture out and eat at the shopping center filled with lots of great restaurants up the street.
Uber is available, but it's not like the big city where you can get a ride in 5mins, wait for me was no more than 10mins. The hotel can also provide you with local taxi service numbers.
I would definitely return to this hotel. Mahalo!

This resort has a lovely, large pool area with water slides, children’s water areas and ample pool chairs and umbrellas. The rooms are modern and very nice and the cleaning staff keep them spotless. The only downside was the lack of privacy/sound proofing from room to room. We stayed in a deluxe studio room with a coastline view and it had a small kitchenette with a bar fridge. We were welcomed with leis and our room had a nice welcome package with a carry bag, chocolates, frisbee, water and a freshly made fruit loaf. The coastline is a 3 minute walk or you can take a shuttle to a shopping area or beach which is 5-10 minutes away. The shuttle is covered through the $35 daily resort fee and is available on a first come first served basis. We tried to call the shuttle several times from a local restaurant and were not successful so arranged for other transport. There are various activities offered throughout the week such as yoga, s’mores, lei making etc. The staff were all very friendly and the lobby had coffee available in the morning and flavoured water or ice tea throughout the day. The small shop offers essentials and food and the restaurant has a very good breakfast as well as a variety of options for casual lunch and dinner. As a Titanium Elite member, there was a choice of bonus points or a $30 credit/day which covers 1/2 to 2/3 of a breakfast for two. Aside from that, other benefits for loyalty associated with Titanium elite status were not an option (example: room upgrade, late checkout). All in all, a very nice resort that we would definitely return to.

This is a beautiful property in an excellent location. We reserved a 1BR unit and used suite night awards to upgrade to a 2BR coastal view. The unit is very comfortable and equipped with everything we need. I wasn’t sure the coastal view would be worth paying more for but I am enjoying it.

We went to Poipu beach the last 2 mornings and saw giant turtles and monk seals on the beach both days. Nice facilities there as well.

As Titanium rewards members we were given $30 F&B credit per day. Staff here is friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is excellent. I would absolutely stay here again but I will close with a few suggestions.

Heat the pools a few degrees warmer. Even the kids stick to the hot tubs so you know the pools are not warm enough.

Add directional signage throughout the property (tranquility pool, towel hut, front desk, spa, etc).

Make towels more accessible to the tranquility pool.

Otherwise, keep doing what you are doing.

We stayed at this property during the week after Christmas with our family group of 18. We rented 5 one-bedroom villas for our group and found the the villas to be perfect for our family reunion. The location is very convenient although no direct beach access. Poipu and other beaches along with shopping and restaurants are very close. Our younger grandchildren loved the pools. We had one ADA room which was very convenient for a person in a wheelchair. Having the washer/dryer in each unit was also a great feature. The front desk staff and others were very accommodating and helpful. Our package included a food and beverage credit and there was some confusion on our part about how it worked. The front desk staff resolved the problem to our satisfaction. Overall, it was a delightful visit and we would definitely stay here again.

We booked hotel on my Marriott points. We booked oceanfront which has now been changed to be called ocean view. Probably a better description. Our room had a nice view, however there are many utility wires that interrupt the beautiful view.

I love the idea of each room having a little kitchen area and it’s own washer and dryer. That makes it very unique.

The pool is great and laid out nicely and there are several larger hot tubs surrounding the pool.

The pool chairs are not comfortable and there needs to be more service help at the pool. Very difficult to order food or drinks without a long wait.

There is only one restaurant on site. We did eat at the restaurant but it is a limited menu. I have several food allergies and the menu does not lend itself to folks with food allergies. Room service seems to be discouraged, or at least that is how we felt. They add a 24% service charge and again don’t really offer much of a menu.

The rooms were clean and kept well. Perhaps once the hotel is broken in a bit, the restaurant menu and service will improve. We did enjoy our stay.

We stayed 5 nights on Marriott points. We booked an island view room (only option available), but were upgraded to ocean view on the 4th floor. The rooms are spotless, modern and have all the conveniences including a washer/dryer. We went to the main pool - it is noisy with all the fountains, but still pleasant. It was tough to find a spot with an umbrella. Go early if this is your preference.
Breakfast one day at the restaurant included banana macadamia pancakes and eggs were cooked to perfection.
The yoga class was excellent as the instructor catered to all levels.
The concierge was helpful, but we waited at least 35 minutes to speak with her as she was consumed with one guest. Better time management from the concierge would be helpful.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Koloa Landing Resort. We especially liked how it doesn’t feel crowded even at full capacity. We never had trouble getting chairs by the pool, and didn’t have to wait long for anything we needed.

We were not able to reserve a villa for our family of 5, so we ended up with two studios and these worked just fine. The studios have a small but well stocked kitchenette and we were surprised to find a washer/dryer as well.

The resort seems to be only mildly affected by the labor shortages that are the reality on Kauai right now, and even short staffed, the employees really work hard to keep things running smoothly.

We had several very good meals at the Holoholo grill. My only suggestion would be to open the restaurant for breakfast an hour or even two earlier. As it is now with the 8am opening time, there’s a big rush right when it opens. That was our only quibble, beyond that everything was outstanding.

I used points to book my studio room and was able to upgrade using suite awards to 1 bedroom villa interior courtyard. I preferred the bottom floor as I was traveling with a friend who is mobility challenged. While we did overlook the parking cul de sac, it was very quiet & peaceful with tropical plants & some shade. We thoroughly enjoyed the room. Close enough for a stroll to Holo Holo Grill for breakfast and the Tranquility Pool for very peaceful relaxation. I believe it was building 8. I have stayed in this building on the 3rd floor with an ocean view though it also overlooked a family home. I felt bad for the family’s lack of privacy for back yard activities.

Absolutely not - pool is fabulous with several different areas - one area is primarily for adults but there are multiple areas for "kids" of all ages.
