This was a great 2bd suite with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry room and large patio overlooking wide expanses of golfing greens with another dining table and 2 lounge chairs on the deck. This was so comfortable for our family of 4. I appreciated the separate beds for each of my kids and the ability to run the washer/dryer whenever we needed. The extra room, less crowded grounds and free parking made this a no brainer over the Hilton Village resort area, which we had access to (also with free parking for us but there is also a free shuttle running every 1/2 hr). There was maid service daily (we paid the regular room rate, not a timeshare deal) which we used sporadically over 8 days. They were very responsive using the text feature, and they did a great job. I liked this so much better than a standard hotel room. This is a great value for this area.

You get the best of both worlds with this resort. The size of these units are perfect for larger families or just more space to spread out. It also provides access to the larger neighbouring Hiltons. We loved the free parking on site which allowed easy access to touring the whole island from here.

These are very nice units and you have easy access to the pool area. There is a free shuttle that runs around Waikoloa area. The entire Waikoloa area is very well maintained and you have access to the Hilton hotel and its expanded large pools and features.

Vacation Package travellers beware: The Hilton will put you up in their oldest room: Smells, not clean, bugs flying out of drains, not cleaned daily; all so that they can entice you to purchase a time-share. They also charge the vacation package traveller a lot more for all events/excursions and the cost for parking is exorbitent so it makes renting a car impractical, however you need a car at this location in order to access anything else on the Island. Food at this location is also difficutl to come by unless of course you can afford $55.00 US per person for a breakfast buffet (as an example). I would not recommend the Hilton.

Aged, darker themes, not much to do on grounds. Older layout in rooms, we had a 2BP. We’ve been with HGV over 25 years and this resort is waiting for its upgrade, I’m told is scheduled next year. Access to Kings Land and Waikoloa is a GREAT benefit.

The soap scum on our shower door/glass was so thick you couldn’t see through it. I asked to have it cleaned, they came, exactly the same after. I spent 60 plus minutes cleaning with the dishwasher cleaning detergent and scrubby plus scraping with a knife so we wouldn’t feel uncomfortable.

Nice patio, and for a change very comfortable cushioned deep seating, but the floor/carpet on the patio was very dirty and stained. We enjoy HGVMax Top quality and hope this will be GRAND again next year with its upgrading. The Mgmnt was very kind in trying to move our room to a 2BX or closer to pool but 2BX was not available for the duration of our stay and we agreed with staff recommendation the golf course view in 1923 was very nice, made the room shortcomings better.

Many reasons for my ratings

1. When I called about a crib for my infant I could not get an answer if there was one available. It seems like an easy math problem to me, since all you have to do is calculate the number of cribs vs the number of people requesting. I was told it was first come first serve, which again doesn’t help since I need to know if I should bring one with me on the plane or if that is one less thing I would need to bring for my family of 5. It’s about convenience and customer service. Also, it’s not peak season so it shouldn’t have been that hard when we asked.

2. In the room there were cockroaches and wine glasses with lipstick stains on them, might as well toss those since you can’t get it out and it’s just a bad look. There was also no dish soap to wash the dishes.

3. When booking this reservation, when checking in and during our marketing tour, I specifically asked if we would have access to the pools of all the different Hilton properties around since we were staying at one and of course I was told yes. After packing up my three children and our pool equipment and driving over to Kingsland we were then rejected and told we were given wrong information. I have a 7, 5 and 1 year old so I’m sure you can imagine my disappointment to find that out. It takes a lot of work to even travel 5 minutes down the road with all of them let alone with our pool gear! As a courtesy it would have been beneficial to just let us enjoy the couple hours there, but instead we were told we had no access.

4. At the pool when requesting towels for our family. We were told that we are supposed to receive them at check in, which we didn’t and that we need to request them from our room, so even though we have our room key and they have our information in the system, we had to go back to the room, request the towels, wait 20-30 minutes and then be given our towels that were already at the front desk which was connected to the pool. I’m sorry, what kind of game are we playing here? I’m already at the pool, just look up our info and give me our towels!

It just seems to me that the staff are very good about telling you what they think you want to hear vs what I actually want to hear, which is the truth. I have three kids and we love going on these trips and having the space, but I need accurate information so I’m not shuffling them around and wasting our time for no reason.

If we do buy a timeshare it most likely wont be with Hilton because of this experience on this trip. It was inconvenient and lacked good customer service. If the tour was more about truth then I could have invested our time and money into it for our future vacations.

Overall the location and space of the rooms and the whole suit are great and needed for our family, we loved the pool and water slide at Kohala and the views and lagoon at Hilton Waikoloa Village, but I’d most likely find another company that will be honest with me and give me the information needed to make my life easier instead of causing more issues.

The 2-bedroom option is great. The room is almost 1,200 sq feet and can fit up to 6 people and has a great balcony too. They have a small pool, which can be a good option if you don't want to drive and/or take a shuttle to the Waikoloa Village property where they have bigger pools. Parking is complimentary, which is excellent for timeshare owners. In my opinion, that's how it should be in every Hilton Grand Vacation property (e.g. they charge a lot of money in Oahu for parking. It's a rip off). Restaurants at Waikoloa Village are extremely expensive, and the quality is quite overrated. If you have a rental, I highly recommend not eating at the Hilton property. There are plenty of restaurants options within few miles drive. The staff service is so so, not very friendly and not willing to do anything special for timeshare owners. Set up low expectations.

The first night there my daughter woke up and said something was biting her. I went to her room and saw bed bugs on her sheet and pillow!

When I looked under the mattress, I saw a swarm of bed bugs between the mattress and box spring (what the hotel folks later called a "nest").

I called the front desk and the moved us to a different room. We had to take a couple of days of clothes with us, leaving the rest of our clothes, suitcases, etc. in the room for them to clean and return to us later.

I can't fault Hilton for having bed bugs; it seems like an increasing common occurrence nowadays. What I do fault them for is terrible housekeeping. I was able to see the bed bugs in.a second, just by looking underneath the mattress.

Their housekeeping should be looking underneath mattresses whenever they clean the room. Had they done so, they would have noticed the bed bugs and my daughter never would have been bitten, we wouldn't have the complete disruption we experienced that night.

We selected this Hilton as it was a premium property. We expected premium service commensurate with the premium price we we were paying.. In my opinion, they failed miserably in this area, they did not meet our expectations, and we'll never stay there again.

Not only is this a great location for a resort, the beautiful unit with a lanai and the amenities that you can use in a Waikoloa property made this one of the best vacations we’ve had. We are a family of five, and this unit allowed my kids to have their own beds and places to chill. The lagoon is amazing and we saw so many sea turtles. Highly recommend.

Good sized 2BR with nice appointments and kitchen supply. The Front Desk, Housekeeping and Maintenance provide excellent service and are responsive. We have used the HGV shuttle to go all over the Waikoloa Resort and have really enjoyed visiting Hawi, Waimea, Kailua Kona from this location. It is close to several beautiful beaches and the location has really worked out for us. We stayed in building 19 and would definitely stay here again.

"Walking distance" depends on your suite. Some are relatively close to the ocean and some are not. Our suite was probably close to a mile from the ocean so I would not have walked it.

Our suite was not outdated at all. But the place is a mega-resort so there are quite possibly some outdated rooms.

It's been over 20 years since we stayed there, so I don't recall if it does or not. It is a distance from the water, so any view will be long range.
