I booked six months in advance and requested room #104. Reason for the choice was some very favorable reviews and views of the rain forest. We called a couple of days ahead to confirm our reservation, and realized that #104 was a King room and our booking was for a Queen room. Well, after an additional $40 cost we slept...

The front desk is only opened during specific hours and the man at the front desk was not very welcoming. The hotel is near volcano park, which is a plus! The bed was a bit hard, we simply felt that the room would look a lot nice without the carpet and a new paint job. It was however very clean....

Great boutique hotel. Rooms are very spacious with own kitchenette, large bathroom and very comfortable bed. Our friends room had a shower with a large jacuzzi tub and spiral staircase up to the bedroom. Hotel is surrounded by tropical plants and trees and has a koi pond. Also has hot tub which was great after the long hike to see...

Cold and damp. Very disappointing. Heat provided by electric space heaters - really?!? Very tacky! Not even close to what we perceived from website. Location great. Facility not. We would stay there only if this is the only available accommodation close to the volcano.

We loved having a room in town just five minutes away from the national Park. It helps staying nearby when nature doesn't always cooperate. On our overnight visit, we went to the Overlook four times. and saw fog, three lava flows, 1.25 flows and fog. My favorite time to go was at 6 o'clock in the morning with no crowds...

Stayed two nights in Valcano Village and spent those two nights at Valcano Hale. Rooms were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Be aware that this is a shared bathroom facility. Not sure how I missed that when I booked, however it did not present a problem. The facility is situated a short drive from the entrance to Valcano...

I have stayed here for two nights and have enjoyed every minute of my stay. Staff is very pleasant to deal with the rooms are exceptionally clean and very interestingly laid out. All of the amenities seem to work well. I would give this small resort my highest rating. Those who post negative feedback about this resort are simply incorrect....

I lived in Chalet Kilauea for 1 night during my trip in Hawaii. The checking lobby is separate with the room, which is not that convenient. It was a warm house which contain several rooms. The room is kind of old and the same with the facilities. Love the star sky around the hotel

Aloha and thank you for choosing the Chalet Kilauea during your Hawai'i trip! We always appreciate comments and feedback from our guests. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the area. The check in lobby is located at Chalet Kilauea and is not separate from the rooms. It seems that maybe you stayed at another of our properties (Volcano Hale),...

We stayed at Chalet Kilauea for one night but wished we stayed longer. The customer service prior and during our stay was great and the surroundings as well as the rooms are beautiful. Great location with close to a few shops and restaurants as well as a short drive from the Volcano National Park.

We had an ok stay at Chalet Kilauea. Not great, not bad. The property is lovely and has lots of vegetation and a great pond to make you feel like you're in the rain forest of the island, which you are, which is cool. Rooms booked with this property name have their own bathroom, and a lil kitchenette. We were...

Mahalo for reviewing the Chalet Kilauea Hotel on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your feedback and welcome your comments about your stay with us. It's great to hear that you enjoyed all the lovely features of being in a rainforest next to the volcano! I agree that with no air conditioner, a hot day would be most uncomfortable. Lucky for us, we...
