We stayed here 2 nights. The cabin is an old restored cabin built in the 1940's, I believe. It is beautiful, very quiet, nice yard. Jim and Barry thought of everything. Breakfast was eggs, fruit, juice, toast, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, left in the refrigerator to fix when we wanted. Because of the humidity in that area we were asked to...

We really appreciate your review! Thank you! The cabin is constructed with clear redwood lumber, 12" x 1" x 10' panels. This was readily available in the 1950's, but now is very rare.

The Crater Rim Cabin is a real oasis on the Big Island. It is so close to Volcano National Park (less than 5 minutes), yet it feels remote and private. The cabin has a cozy ambiance that invites you to step inside and stay for a while. My husband and I slept in the bedroom while our 11 year old...

The owners were so accommodating as to make us feel welcome and at home. The cabin is exquisite & craftsman style, and It could not have been cleaner...really. The location is spectacular and vegetation around the cabin exotic. A 10 minute ride to the National Park Service visitors center.

Quiet and clean. Refrigerator was stocked up as advertised. Good coffee. Lots of little details like trail guides and warming blankets. Clean and convenient to the park. It was nice to be able to spread out. We enjoyed our stay at Crater Rim Cabin.

We spent 3 nights at the crater rim cabin and wished we had booked for longer. If you want a peaceful property with great facilities then this is the place for you. Jim and Barry were perfect hosts and went out of their way to help in any way. The cabin is very close to the volcano and an ideal...

I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was secluded and felt very private but was still very close to the National Park. It was very clean, and we felt right at home. The owners were just a phone call away to answer any questions. We hope to return to the Big Island and...

“I wish we could have taken Crater Rim Cabin and Barry with us everywhere we stayed in Hawaii.” Cozy, beautiful and thoughtfully decorated, well stocked kitchen for breakfast, and very convenient to Volcano National Park and the village of Volcano.

We spent 4 nights in this cabin in late September. It far exceeded expectations. Very cozy (important as it actually quite chilly in the evenings at the altitude), impeccably clean, every convenience you could possibly think of, & a lot you wouldn't! Fresh flowers, fresh fruit, plenty of linen, breakfast supplies, basic necessities & a few luxuries..... Great location as...

We chose this because of its great reviews and we were not disappointed. Our host was very helpful, the rooms were very clean and cozy and the bed was huge and comfortable. We spent three nights which was long enough for us to visit the Park and make a side trip to Hilo. Two very minor issues: 1) none of...

We stayed 5 nights & recommend that as a minimum. There is lots to do at Volcano National Park, Hilo's not that far, & neither is Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa. B-fast supplies were there to fix & enjoy in privacy. Tea, coffee, juice, milk, eggs, cereal, fruit, bread, home made jam & honey. Plate ware & utensils for 2...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this great review! We are happy to respond to your suggestions. Next time you stay with us you will find a new set of pots & pans, a new luxury mattress on the convertible futon sofa, and a new WiFi range extender, located in the main room of the cabin....
