My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Bamboo Cottage. The cottage is tucked away in the rainforest and has its own drive and carport. The plants and landscape was beautiful as was the cottage. Our host, Ann welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us an informative orientation. Very close to Volcano National Park. We had a...

We just LOVED staying in the Sanctuary Cottage! A beautiful space, private and surrounded by jungle. This cottage had everything we needed, with a wonderful breakfast goodie basket each day. The outside soaking tub could not be more wonderful-we used it at least twice each day! Peter and Kathleen are wonderful hosts-so kind and gracious-available if you need them, otherwise...

We stayed 3 nights at the rainforest retreat. It is such a unique setting and very peaceful. It was the perfect place to stay and see Volcano National Park and is also close to Volcano Village (where the food is). The manager met us when we arrived (even though we were late). She gave us a thorough tour and showed...

We stayed in the Sanctuary cottage (smallest and cheapest) for three nights as part of our honeymoon trip in early June 2013. It was wonderful, every little detail had been thought of and the ofuro (Japanese hot tub) was a delight. Peter (Owner) met us when we came in and gave us a nice welcome, telling us how everything worked....

The Volcano rainforest retreat is located just a few driving minutes away from volcano national park on Big Island an thus a perfect place to be one of the first in the morning to experience this impressive national park. The retreat itself consists of 4 cottages located between huge ferns, giving you the impression that you are almost alone out...

We spent just one night in the Sanctuary and loved it. The rainforest setting is perfect, and the building itself is really cool, as is the outdoor shower and hot tub (especially when it got a little cold at night!). Our host was helpful in planning out our visit to the Volcano National Park and suggested a walking tour to...

We spent two nights at the Sanctuary Cottage and it was fabulous. We loved the lit-up pathways through the rainforest and the all-glass walls. The retreat was also minutes from the Hawaiian Volcano National Park and both days we did numerous hikes in the park and then returned to relax at the retreat. It did rain both days but a...

We spent part of our spring break at the bamboo guest house. It was a wonderful experience! The guest house was unique and comfortable. Our hosts were gracious. We loved the setting in the rainforest (and yes, it did rain a little, but it made the atmosphere only more enchanting). We were enthralled by the natural beauty of the resort...

My husband and I enjoyed our very unique stay at the Volcano Rainforest Retreat! We stayed in the Forest House. The grounds are beautiful, the hot tub was great for the cool evenings, and the in-room breakfast made for relaxing mornings. Know that the walls are glass (and the shades are sheer), meaning that you seemingly have very little privacy....

Stayed just one night in the Bamboo cottage. Kathleen did orientation for us and gave us great advice on dinner and lunch spots in Volcano and in Hilo. The cottage was amazing. I'm sure that most people who stay here are looking for quiet romance but we were here on spring break with our 8 & 10 year old. The...
