We loved the unit we were in. The homey touches made it a wonderful place to stay. We had slippers provided, along with lap blankets. The porch was enclosed and a wonderful place to sit and watch the rainforest. They provided a nice breakfast for us to cook and we loved the sandwich maker. I would recommend this property to...

Aloha Karen~ Mahalo for taking the time to provide a review of our property! We are always striving to make all our rooms feel a little more homey and working on upgrading our furniture and amenities. Very nice relaxing stay surrounded by trees and singing birds. We loved the room (very cute), which was equipped with all the essentials for breakfast and preparing quick meals (microwave, coffee maker, stove, fridge). My favorite place was the upper deck lounge area- nice place to relax while hearing the sounds of the rainforest. This is a very peaceful magical...

Aloha Lisa~ Like you, I love the upper deck lounge area! What a great place to kick back with a glass of wine in the evenings after a long day of hiking in the park, or even start your day with a cup of coffee! It's so serene to listen to the birds or watch the pheasants walk around below....

I stayed in the Treetop Suite here with my son on a recent visit to the Big Island. We wanted to stay near the park, so that we wouldn't have to wake up tooooo early for out 4am lava hike! (This is only about 6 minutes drive from the park entrance, so it was perfect). The pictures are pretty accurate...

Dr. K, We are so glad you and your son enjoyed your stay! The Treetop suite is an amazing room with 360 degrees of lanai to watch the birds or just sit out and relax on your own private deck. We are so glad you guys were able to see the lava and enjoy your time in the park. We...

We (my son and I) stayed for 2 nights in the Treetop Suide. Loved it! Very private, surrounded by trees on all sides, with mostly just the sounds of the birds, despite being so close to town and technically in a neighborhood. Volcano Park is just about 7 minutes drive away (which was great, for our 4am hike). Theresa and...

Really loved this place. It may seem rustic by its location, but the cottage we had was full kitchen, fireplace, jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, wifi and even a tv in the bedroom. Beautiful, relaxing place minutes from volcanoes park and volcano village. They gave great park and restaurant recommendations.

We loved this treehouse suite. It was in the middle of the forest and the sounds were so special. The suite itself was spacious, gorgeous and immaculate. We didn't walk into Volcano town because we are vegan, but rather drove the half hour to Hilo one night for dinner, and cooked in the treehouse the other night. The kitchen was...

This is a beautiful, secluded, peaceful getaway located 8 min by car from beautiful Volcano National Park. It felt like we were in the middle of the fern forest, even though there were other residences right down the road & gas and food 4 minutes away. Staying in the "trees" of a rainforest was also amazing & unforgettable!

Felt like a million dollar in the Treetop suite. Volcano is very rainy so after a day of Hiking in the national park, the fireplace was for sure a detail I would have not expected to like that much. Great privacy high up in the trees, cool design on hotel! Small minus on uncomfy sofas and not too well equipped...

There were pros and cons to staying at the cottages. There are three cottages, and only one (the Cedar Cottage) is detached, which is where we stayed. The cottage was very clean and quiet, surrounded by lush foliage. We were the only ones on the grounds, so we had the outdoor space to ourselves. The property is located about 5...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Look out your window and see giant tree ferns (hapu'u) greeting your arrival, just inches from your eyes. Volcano Tree House was built among the trees to preserve Hawaii's spectacular native rainforest. Reach out and touch ohia trees from your deck as you listen to native songbirds. This is the place to come to get away from it all and reconnect with nature and your inner spirit. Choose from two studios and one suite, all with private entrances. ... more   less
