The rooms are not fancy or new, but just the same between the friendly staff, fresh bananas, papayas and baked goods, fully equipped kitchen, free wifi, and outside balcony with table and chairs, it felt more like a combo timeshare and B$B.if I am ever in Hilo again, I would definitely stay here!

Great value for your dollar, outstanding service and breakfast from the jungle. This place is one of the best maintained, motels we've stayed in, it's not new, it's not recent but it's great! No phone but who needs a phone in Hilo HI. Highly recommend.

Agree with all the positive things that have been said about this hotel. It is not a big, anonymous lux-de-lux sort of hotel, but the rooms we had were clean, spacious and very comfy and the owners make you feel very welcome and are a mine of local information and advice. The home grown fresh fruit and tasty coffee and...

but that would be a waste of time. But I thought I could add to your knowledge by saying this: I am a very light sleeper sensitive to noise and heat. Nevertheless the cacophony of the frogs and the fact there was no air conditioning did not affect my sleep at all. I highly recommend this hotel for the reasons...

This place is super scruffy, I would compare it to a very low end youth hostel from my back packing days. If $10 per night, that would be acceptable, but considering the cost - Dolphin Bay is disappointing and incredibly overpriced. Noisy (needed earplugs to sleep), lumpy beds, sheets at least 10 years old, location seemed somewhat seedy too. The...

Our second time here, so I'll just list the pros and cons. Pros: * Affordable, decent rooms. Clean, not fancy., * Little kitchen is great for family meal prep. Also, because Hilo has expensive and not-too-good restaurants, this is a nice option for some people. * The family rooms, like #19, are very spacious. * Rooms have fans (no air...

Found this place thanks to Trip Advisor. Did not disappoint. Reasonable rates, clean, functional and comfortable accommodations, and banana bread with helpful advice. I love the frog harmonies at night but there are earplugs provided in the room for those who might not. Easy distance from Volcano and walking distance to many restaurants and other attractions. Any time I'm back...

Off the beaten path in a neighborhood near downtown. The staff is very freindly and exceptionally helpful. They have a lot of suggestions on dining and volcano experiences. Nothing fancy about the hotel, just a great sense of Aloha.

Great place to stay in Hilo! Clean, friendly, and you will feel the island heart beat. Frogs are loud at night, but where else can you sleep with frog "white" noise. Staff is wonderful and coffee and cakes in the morning are all you need. Best place in Hilo to stay and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.

Great hospitality hotel I have ever received. A small, quaint hotel, nestled near downtown Hilo. This is not your average hotel, but a small family owned operation. The owners are extremely helpful and very inviting. The rooms are cute, cozy, comes with an extremely clean, fully stocked kitchen, and within walking distance to downtown Hilo. A wonderful tropical orchard and...
