My friends and I are staying at this lovely Inn. It is located up the hillside just enough to see beautiful views of the Hilo Bay. Gay, the host is very helpful and informative about places to venture, depending on the time you have allotted. She also has wonderful stories about Hawaiian lore. She will even entertain you with a...

We enjoyed staying at the Hilo Honu Inn very much. We had a great suite of rooms which were very spacious. Gay was great at helping us arrange our days especially when it was rainy. We would happily stay there again.

Gay is a charming, interesting hostess of this B & B and helped make our stay enjoyable. The house is quite charming, especially the top-floor room (which we didn't book, unfortunately, but would if there were to be a second visit there.) Our room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Overall a good experience.

We spent four nights in Honu's Nest and enjoyed our stay immensely. It's the smallest of the three rooms, but it's fine for two people, and offers plenty of storage space. The bed was quite comfortable, We slept well, enjoying the light breeze (there's good cross ventilation although AC is available if you need it). The breakfast was excellent and...

Spent four wonderful nights in Samurai Suite. The bed was amazing (and we are very picky). The space is beautiful with a great ocean view. Breakfast every morning was delicious and Gay was very accommodating of our restrictions. She was such a wonderful host and helped us plan our adventures every morning with lots of great tips. Can't recommend this...

Our stay was exceptional. Gay, our host, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the Hawaii culture. She made the breakfast conversation both mornings very engaging and interesting. (Ask her to show you how to hula) And the breakfasts were very tasty. The house is also a gem. It's an historical house which has been updated and maintained in top...

We stayed in the Samurai Suite and were happily rewarded with privacy, views across the city to the ocean and lots of space. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfasts were excellent with good coffee. Gay is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We will definitely return on our next visit to the Big Island. BTW, even though Hilo is wet, it...

We stayed at the Hilo Honu Inn as the first stop on a 10-day 30th wedding anniversary celebration trip. It is a lovely B & B in a very convenient location to explore the Hilo area. We stayed in the Bali Hai suite, located on the first floor of the property. The suite was spacious and consisted of a sitting...

We found this place through excellent reviews at Tripadvisor, and still the hostess and the place itself managed to surprise us positively, adding a value by itself to our overall Hawaii experience. The house is a gem, very well maintained Japanese style house from the thirties. Gay, the hostess, is a very welcoming and knowledgeable person, and in love with...

Wonderfully light, airy, spacious and well-equipped under the direction of Gay, who knows everything about Hawaii from Hilo to hulu. Only three rooms (two large and comfy suites) which makes it perfect for a family invasion. Creative and filling breakfasts top it all off.
