Our 2nd stay with Ric and Maria at Hale Kai, Ocy 30-Nov 2, 2010. We reviewed several other B&Bs in the Hilo area to see if there was something more inviting, but we chose Hale Kai again. The view from the lanai and the view...More

The room and location was really nice, I wish there was an option to not pay for the breakfasts. Tripadvisor does not have an option for 'would you recommend this hotel to a friend' -- maybe, possibly.

Yes, stairs. Parking was a bunch of back-and-forth moves because there were other cars and the lot is shallow in one direction. We had a small car; a large one might be tough to park if there's only one space open. The pool... More

This is not a noisy spot. Ask the owner re king bed, rooms are not fancy but spacious. Request a room at the far end - away from dining table.

Aloha, The car rental is about a 3 minute walk from baggage claim at the Hilo Airport. If you are coming into the Kona Airport, there is a shuttle that takes you there and it's about 5 minutes away from baggage claim.
