We stayed here for 3 nights. Quick check-in process and location is close to the airport. Sucked that it rained on 2 days and hotel has 10 umbrellas to be shared amongst all the rooms. (More than 200). We had a broken coffee maker which we asked them to replace but they never did. Seems to be the most popular... More

Unfortunately my stay here was not a planned one. I had to get my mom off of a cruise ship here in Hilo because she was sick. The local visitor center suggested I stay at this hotel while my mom was recouping at the hospital. It is an older property and could benefit from a little update but that being... More

We stayed here our first night, before heading to rental house near Kaopho tide pool. We wish we had spent 2 nights! our room was huge, a room with 2 queens then a separate dining/living room, with mini kitchen. We were on the 7th floor, on the end, had 2 balconies. We woke to the gorgeous sight of the bay... More

Can use some updating, clean and useful for my purposes landing after an all day trip from New York. Good crash pad. Not overly luxurious but serves the purpose to sleep and get some rest. Not a resort hotel by any means but decent.

We stayed in Hilo for 3 nights to visit Volcanoes National Park, and later stayed in Kona for the beachy/resort end of our trip. We chose this hotel because, sadly, it stands as one of the nicer hotels in Hilo. Hilo offers very poor/low-end accommodations. I would say Castle was along the lines of a Holiday Inn. It was a... We recently stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian for four nights. In retrospect, this hotel needs to seriously get their act together if they expect to compete with the influx from mainland hotel chains. Some well planned upgrading in their facilities and accommodations are essential to maintaining some level of ability to compete with the future changes. Our room with two... More

I haven't stayed at Hilo Hawaiian before and I'm a local. Checking in was so fast. The room was so nice and comfortable. I would stay there again. Hilo Hawaiian was a nice get get away even if it was for 1 night.

After arriving, our check-in was quick, professional, combined with that Aloha Spirit of courtesy. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The next morning after working out in the wonderful fitness center, we strolled the grounds blessed with the tranquility of Hilo Bay, and the magical view of Mauna Kea in the distance. Great hotel, great people, great value. Aloha.

We only stayed here for 2 nights, then we moved onto Oahu. This was our first impression of Hawaii and we all wished we had stayed in Hilo longer. The views from the lanai were breathtaking. We arrived later in the evening, it was so quiet we heard nothing but the frogs chirping away. The staff was pleasant and the... More
