We stayed in a semi- private room for several days and did the Mauna Kea stargazing tour. The room was very clean and comfortable with a large shared (accessible) bathroom. It was a great set up to buy a few groceries and cook meals as a mini fridge and a kitchen with cooking gear were available. Walking distance to two...

We stayed for 2 nights in the deluxe suite and were very pleased. Everything in town was easily accessible and accommodations were in great shape, especially for the price. We would definitely stay again sometime.

My only complaint is that the bed was VERY firm. I had my thermarest along so that solved the issue. Very neat, clean, laid back, and friendly atmosphere! The neighborhood is a best kept secret of Hilo. Neat beach parks nearby

Mahalo for your review! We apologize that the bed was a little too firm for you! Unfortunately, it is difficult to meet all sleeping preferences. However, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay otherwise! We strive to have a comfortable, clean spot to come back and relax in after a day out in the sun here in Hilo! Thank...

Arnott's lodge was clean, comfortable and quiet, and a short walk from the lovely beach parks. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Went on the Mauna Kea sunset tour and made it to the summit. Our guide, Sean, was excellent and gave a wonderful star gazing presentation.

Some accommodation is quite good but some are not comfortable. Deluxe suites are the best. Cleanliness is very good, high standards. Unfortunately out of the way if you don't have a car. No way to get food or go out without $17 taxi rides.

The Deluxe Suite #1 was perfect for parents with a kid (on a mattress on the floor). The kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals. Eating and relaxing on the lanai was lovely with our "own" grassy, little backyard with palm trees, beautiful flowers/greenery and reasonable privacy. The location is a bit far from downtown Hilo, but OK with...

We did the Mauna Kea Sunset tour with arnott's Lodge. David was our guide. Although you can't visit any of the observatories on this tour (you have to be part of a scientific group for that) you can view the sunset from the very top of the mountain. David was an excellent guide knowledgeable funny and well-versed in the history...

We loved Arnotts -- our only disappointment was we couldn't stay longer! We had only one night in Hilo amidst our travels on the Big Island but Arnott's was just what we were looking for--nice, clean, (relatively) low cost private sleeping space. “The suite in which we had a semi-private room had tile floor throughout so sound travelled very efficiently. If there had been others staying in the suite I probably would have used earplugs just in case others were up and about when I was sleeping, but they weren't necessary when it was only us. The bed was a bit soft, but in good condition.”
