This bed and breakfast is the perfect island home away from home! Robin makes sure you feel like the place is your own. Her breakfasts are perfectly fresh and delicious. The ocean breeze that softly flows through the house and grounds is mixed with an energy of loving kindness that only the rare location can provide. The sunsets sitting on... More

Beautiful place to stay with excellent breakfast. My wife and I enjoyed two nights here in September and had an excellent time. Robin the innkeeper was super friendly and an amazing breakfast cook. We snorkeled in the bay and enjoyed some of the excellent foods, coffees, and views in the area. Our room at the B&B was lovely and so... More

This is the second time we've stayed here and it was even better than the first. I didn't think that was possible because the first time was so enjoyable. It's a lovely B&B with an amazing view of Kealakekua Bay. The entire staff made us feel right at home and Robin, our innkeeper, made our stay especially memorable with her... More

You want to be near the water in Captain Cook, so that you can make your way to the memorial. This fabulous place offers a short walk to multiple places where you can rent a kayak to get there. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The most important aspect of this place are the hostesses, Robin and Maka-ala'a. My very... More

We had a lovely time staying at the B&B. The property is beautiful, the Ali'i room spacious and airy with gorgeous views of the bay. Getting into a jacuzzi tub after our nearby excursions was AMAZING (two step snorkeling twice since it was so close + a kayak trip with Kona boys through the bay to Captain cook). Robin was... More

Everything was absolutely perfect about our stay. Beautiful views, delicious breakfast, and a clean beautiful room! If you can, stay in the Master Suite. The views that you wake up to are breathtaking. Loved the open air suite. Robin is so thoughtful and is a wealth of knowledge on anything you would want to do in that area or around... More

Great view, great breakfasts, time to play with Huxley and learn a lot about the local culture. We felt like it was our home for the time we were there. A place to renew and restore. We ended up laughing and singing every day.

Only minutes from Kealakekua Bay and a great snorkeling beach, with comfortable rooms and welcoming public spaces, it's hard to believe there's a better place to stay if your destination is South Kona. Robin, the innkeeper, is warm and friendly, without being cloying, and super helpful about the area's atractions, restaurants, etc. We stayed in the Ali'i suite, and recommend... More

Lovely, clean, comfortable room (best sheets ever), looking out on the yard and then out to the bay. Delicious breakfast with local fruit. Robin was a terrific and knowledgeable innkeeper, with wonderful dog Huxley. Snorkeling equipment on hand, walkable to kayak rental. Overall, a very comfortable stay, no complaints at all.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. Robin and Huxley the dog make this so special. We watched dolphins playing in the bay and geckos playing in the rafters. Great views, great rooms, great bed, great service, great breakfast. We just can't say enough about this wonderful place. We hope to come back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kealakekua Bay Bed & Breakfast and our Ohana Kai Guest Cottage are comfortable, open-air Mediterranean/Polynesian-style villas overlooking the pristine waters of Kealakekua Bay on the sunny South Kona coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, as well as being gently cradled behind by the majestic Pali (cliffs). Located in the heart of Kona's lush coffee country, this five-acre tropical estate is a peaceful and romantic haven, set amongst beautiful park-like gardens of fragrant flowers, colorful plants, stunning trees, and singing birds. We are only a five-minute walk from the ocean, snorkeling, and kayaking; also conveniently located with a ten-minute drive to stores and restaurants of our small mauka (up-country) communities of historical Kealakekua and Captain Cook – where the people still live a slower paced life of days gone by, as well as some of the best restaurants on the island! Our Bed and Breakfast provides our visitors with a lovingly prepared breakfast featuring local produce, while our Ohana Kai Guest Cottage does not include breakfast, it does allows our guests the convenience of a fully appointed vacation rental. ... more   less
