Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We were stopping in for the night after a day of driving and seeing Devils Tower. The room/chalet faced the Belle Fourche River and the setting was calm and quiet after a long day. We watched wild turkey wander around and deer fording the river and meandering in the cool of the evening.

The room itself was just what we needed - clean, comfortable, easy to sleep in. The location is not far from the Tower, so it was easy to get too at the end of a long day.

Room Tip: We loved the separated chalet facing the river. Very quiet, very private.

My wife and I were taking our 2 Brazilian exchange students on a 10 day national park tour. Having just left Yellowstone, we wanted to detour to Devil's Tower and found Hullett online and so glad we did. We stayed in a downstairs unit with 2 bedrooms. Very room, clean,, good beds, comfortable. Loved being able to sit outside by the river, and contrary to other reviews, the Wifi was great. Our students sat outside by the river at a picnic table and did their online classes. A friendly and efficient young lady checked us in. The only glitch was that after we were in the room, the door opened and a man walked in with a key to our room. Somehow a different person in the office and rented it to him, although we had booked online. We all got a good laugh; an honest mistake. Later on a young man in the office took care of our ice cream orders...again polite and efficient.
We would love to return to Hullett with more time and would stay here again.

The cabin was clean, convenient and reasonably priced. It was a brief stay for us, but we would stay again if back in the area. The owner was super nice and gave helpful insight and info on places to eat and things to do. Cute little town with antiques, art, shopping and a few eateries.

We booked here based on the good reviews. Great location to see devils tower. Our room was a disappointment though. Bed in back room had dirty sheets. Had obviously not been changed. Bathroom appeared clean, but very old and falling apart. My family of 3 had to sleep in one small bed and did not want to use the shower because of its appearance and the fact that we did not trust that the towels were clean. I expect white towels that are bleached for sanitation. Theirs were brown. Room is terribly dated. Front desk not attended at night, so I could not address dirty sheets or towels.

We went to Devils Tower and stayed in a chalet at the Hulett Motel that was super cute! It was perfect for the two of us. The chalet was very clean and the bed was comfy. Danette checked us in and she went out of her way to make sure anything we needed was tended to! Don’t pass this place up!

This was a nice no frills roadside motel. The check in process is all automated via test/email. It had most everything I needed for a one night stay. The motel is about 9 miles from Devil's Towers. I would stay again if I was in the area and would recommend to others.

We opted for one of the "chalets" at the Hulett Motel during our trip to Devils Tower and the Dakotas last week. Yes, the accommodation was small, but it had a comfortable bed and a good shower, and that was really all we needed. There was a big thunderstorm that roared through overnight, and the rain pounded hard on the roof! But, no leaks!! The wifi was very strong, too, probably because the router was on our chalet! And, the Hulett Motel is only about 15 minutes from Devils Tower. It was a shame that they no longer serve ice cream as pictured.

We stayed in one of the three individual chalets facing the river. It was great, good space for two of us in the best location. Everything you need in room, comfy bed. Parking outside the chalet. Really friendly helpful staff. Right in centre of the small cute town of Hulett with its historic buildings and some good eateries and shops. So close to Devils Tower and short distance from all the small towns in South Dakota. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very quaint and clean place. Room was recently renovated so everything was brand new. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom very clean. Our room faced the river, so it made for a very relaxing setting. Not too much open in the little one street town after 6:00. Would stay there again if in the area.

We enjoyed our night in the chalet. The room was clean and warm. It has everything you need for a quick 1 night stay. The only thing missing was a blow dryer. A great place to eat is the Ponderosa Cafe. Great food.
