I am amazed by the rave reviews for this motel. Maybe others scored a refurbished room. The one I was assigned was vintage 1970's with very old orange shag carpeting and bathroom tiles I haven't seen in years. I would not walk on the floors without slippers, nor take a shower. The room was probably as clean as possible, but...

Oh Sandi, We are so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us at the BEAR. Wow, we had no idea you were so unhappy. You are right that the rooms are vintage AND that they are clean. We are working very hard to update without losing the charm of yesteryear. Thanks for taking the time to review us, we...

The Black Bear Inn is an older "motor inn" in Dubois, Wy (Dew'boyz). It is family owned and run. I spent 2 nights here and will go back if I get through Dubois again. My room was clean and comfortable, the bed was fine. As mentioned, it is older so if you need upscale amenities, don't stay here, or in...

This motel is really cute and quite. The owner strives to satisfy all of the guests needs. It is very clean. The beds are comfortable and have beautiful quilts on them and rooms are decorated tastefully, with bears on pillows and candy on counter. They have refrigerator and microwave and a large coffee pot. The owner is very helpful for...

We recently stayed at the Black Bear Inn for the 4th year in a row. We look forward to staying there more each year. We've enjoyed getting to know Liz and her family. They're the best and go the extra mile to make sure you feel at home! You will love it.

Went there for a business trip. Really appreciated how honest the woman owner was. I had a bad experience next door at Trails Edge and I really regretted not staying longer at Black Bear Inn. Reasonable rates.

After serendipitously stumbling into Dubois on our way to Yellowstone, a friend and I were greeted with yet another pleasant surprise: The Black Bear Inn. Liz and the entire family were so thoughtful and genuinely magnanimous. The room was clean and comfortable. The family is always striving to improve their inn and their hard work is apparent. Liz's sons even...

The Inn isn't fancy, but it's very comfortable, clean, quiet and friendly. It's right off the highway and right on the river, and they serve s'mores every night :). We'll stay there again next time we come this way :). There is no TV, but the wifi worked great and they have many, many movies available to borrow.

We just loved our two nights here. Our room was cosy and quiet and had recently been refurbished. Liz made us feel thoroughly welcomed and you can tell she really puts a lot of effort into making the guests feel welcomed and at home. The location is excellent - located on the main street and easy walking distance to cafes,...

We enjoyed our stay at the Black Bear Inn. We stayed for a week and enjoyed our trips to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone tremendously. Liz and Matt were so nice and helpful. The Wind River flows right past the Inn and the fishing there is fabulous! There was even a Shoshone Nation Powwow in DuBois during our week there!...
