Stayed here for three nights in September. We left a night early so we could actually get some sleep. This review is not directed toward the staff at all. The staff is outstanding. They answered any questions we had and were very helpful. The lodge has a laundry which is new and conveniently located. We also enjoyed the restaurant. We ate there two nights and were very pleased with the service and quality of food. The accommodations left a lot to be desired. We stayed in the cabin #2. The cabin had a 14 gallon water heater so only one person could get a shower before the hot water ran out. The bedroom was cramped and only had a full size bed. The sheets and linens are in need of updating. Dial up internet would have given the wifi in the cabin a run for its money speed wise. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to make breakfast and lunch every day. The cabins are very close together. We were able to hear the folks in the cabin next to us talking until midnight. And they weren't particularly loud. There is an RV site on the other side of the cabin. Luckily we did not have an RV there during our stay. Like other folks have said, we left a day early so we could stay somewhere that was more comfortable and had better sleeping conditions.…
We stayed here in a camping cabin which is pretty rustic but we knew what we were getting. A bit of a walk to the bath house but it was nice and clean. Had a great pizza at the bar and the staff were all super helpful. They are going above most places in regards to covid - they make your coffee- they have social distance barriers - they wear masks - etc - so do stop in and support a good local business.
We stopped here from Yellowstone on our way east to Michigan. With Covid and all, we were very lucky with our timing. They are doing limited seating and (perhaps?) shorter hours. We stopped about 7:30pm and kitchen closed at 8pm. Food was delish- our table had the pizza, veggie pasta, chix quesadilla, and a calzone. Big portions and meals were hot. Our server, Heaven, was very busy with the bar and diners but she was delightful and efficient. There aren't too many options on I-80 - we were very pleased with our on the fly decision!
I do not recommend staying here. We had a cabin #3. This is small, with seating for only two people even though it sleeps four. There is no AC and no fan in the bedroom. The bathroom is the tiniest I have ever seen. Everything is cheap and old. There is an amazing view out back but absolutely no space to sit and enjoy the view. There was no possibility to be outside the cabin. The place is surrounded by private property that you have no access to. Note: the space between the cabins is filled with RVs. The staff treated us like a problem to be overcome rather than a welcome guest. Very disappointing. We will leave early.
No air conditioning, but it does get hot during the day until after 9:00pm. No coffee except the room coffee maker. They do have a shop to buy coffee though that is brewed. Cabins look a bit more updated, but our room in the main building was very outdated. The Mountain View would be beautiful if there wasn’t a huge glare coming off the greenhouse building. Mosquitoes in the room from a hole in the screen on the window. Hot water took a LONG time to get to the room which made for a few lukewarm showers. Careful if you order a pizza at the restaurant. We ordered a pizza with Italian sausage, onion and peppers...$27 and it tasted more like a pita bread with cheese and toppings..very little red sauce. Overpriced by far for the comfort and services provided.
