Plains hotel is historic hotel across the street ffrom Cheyenne Depot Museum. The hotel is within walking distance of many historic buildings, restaurants and coffee shops. Hotel is clean, comfortable and plenty of free parking space when we stayed in October.

Cheyenne is a rare phenomenon--city is rather quant --lots of roaming space... Hotel is an antique, simple rooms, fairly clean, adequate--probable the best downtown-- I was happy to reduce the price, saving aspect was the dining area, booths and full bar--great breakfast !

The new owner of the historic Plains Hotel has her vision in place for this wonderful hotel and restaurant! The former "Wheatgrass" restaurant is being replaced by "The Plains Hotel Restaurant" and a quarter of the menu will be items from the original menu if the hotel. Today I had the new club sandwich and excellent house cut French fries....

On a cross country drive even good chain hotels get repetitive and miss the local style. This hotel was the perfect stop when interstate-shutting snow and ice landed us in Cheyenne. The room was just okay (we didn't get their best) but the overall stop was great. Nice restaurant where we took our time with fine food and drinks. Staff...

I wanted to stay here because of how old the hotel is and history. Hotel did not disappoint. Centrally located in heart of downtown. I gave family members, who came for party, a tour of this hotel. They also fell in love and vowed to stay here next time they visit Cheyenne. I would give a 5 star except I...

We wanted to stay somewhere in the downtown area so we could walk to restaurants and shops. We were glad we picked the Plains hotel as it is quaint, historic, and not your cookie-cutter chain hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Great consignment store next door! Old movie theatre across the street. Downtown area not so great in terms of...

Our stay was just an overnight stay but the hotel is right in downtown close to many shops and restaurants. If you want modern stay elsewhere. The staff at check-in and when we left were extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely old and historical. Would stay again.

The rooms are dated with sparse amenities but the location makes up for that. It is located in the Center of Historic Cheyenne with many restaurants, bars, cafes and shopping either walking distance or short drive.

Nice central location, and it does have a very much old fashioned feel to it, but if your used to modern nicely appointed hotel then this isn't for you. Very noisy early in the morning with the railroad and traffic lights outside

We liked how it was located in downtown near restaurants, bars and shopping. The staff was not helpful or friendly AT ALL!! When we checked in the girl at the front acted as if we were putting her off by checking in. When we went for breakfast in the morning we asked a server a question prior to sitting down...
