Stayed for 2 nights on DBB deal in March. I stay in lots of hotels but I rank this one as one of the best Ive stayed in. Accommodation was outstanding. We were in room 14 in the ancient house which was like a small house (with separate en-suite bedroom and downstairs lounge). Bed was huge and very comfortable, and...

Heard so much about this place, decided to pop in for a coffee. Extremely poor quality, Luke warm, very small cups. Staff need a lesson in customer service very miserable a smile would not go amiss. Shame as building is quite pleasant.

We visited on Saturday 25th March and had a great lunch late in the afternoon. Salt beef deli sandwiches with cheese and home made mustard pickle and Crispy Pork Loin with Crackling and Apple Sauce. Complimented by London Pride and fine Cider. Brilliant

We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of this stylish pub/hotel. Breakfasts were very good indeed, eggs benedict wonderful. Dinner too was very enjoyable and I thoroughly recommend Lady Leicester's salad as a first course. On the cold windy afternoons it was lovely to sit by the blazing fire, reading the daily papers drinking coffee. Lots of...

The venue and staff were lovely but the food was decidedly poor. My friend had an expensive vegetable crumble which both friends tried and both wouldn't finish it as they said it was awful. I had the burger and it was dry as a bone as it was over cooked. The waiter asked how the food, my friends face said...

Thank you for your review and constructive comments. We are sorry to read that the food did not meet expectations on this occasion but are pleased that it was resolved by the team at the time. We hope that you can give us another try sometime soon.

We stayed here for one night on the 16th March. We stayed in the ancient house in a twin room. This was a large double with a separate lounge upstairs. Room was very spacious with the most comfortable beds. This is the second hotel I have stayed in with comfortable beds and both hotels had put a mattress topper over...

Having stayed in the Hoste in Burnham Market a few times, the Victoria is a welcome break from over-popular Burnham market. The Victoria is a relaxed, informal place with very very spacious and delicious lux rooms. The location is perfect for some great walks too. The downsides - when we arrived on Saturday the place was packed and there was...

We visited to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful lunch, good service and lovely local food. Perfect location before going off to Christmas by Candlelight at Holkham Hall. Hopefully next time can get near the fire

Mid-week break to recharge from winter cold and overwork - previously stayed in main building but on this trip the "ancient house" situated across the drive. Stylish room with generous supply of drinks and snacks; luxurious en suite bathroom with quality toiletries and white fluffy towels. Took advantage of the BB and dinner rate and was pleasantly surprised to see...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, The Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham Estate. There are ten elegant, indivually designed and stylish bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. We are ready to welcome more guests in spring 2015 with the addition of a further ten bedrooms just across the road from The Victoria in one of the oldest buildings on the Holkham Estate: Ancient House. The building has been converted to provide ten additional bedrooms, including four spacious family room. The sympathetic refurbishment has retained many of the building's original features, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity. The bar and dining rooms at The Vic offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. We serve delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate, with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800's when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. ... more   less
