Property's Favourite Review
Our 2 night stay at TLC was as wonderful as our first visit in Feb23. We arrived 5pm and immediately jumped into a canoe and paddled to Middle Beach causing a frenzy of frantic clumsy flight departures off the water of black swans and water hens bobbing in the lagoon!
Arriving back energised we enjoyed drinks watching the sparkling sunset across the lagoon from our cabin deck and later a stay-in cooked meal from the well equipped kitchen. We also helped ourselves to the provided milk, coffee, muesli and bread over our stay.
After dinner we created and sat around a handsome fire we made in the pit using wood and fire-starters provided.
Finally a hot shower with great water pressure was the perfect way to relax before climbing into the very comfortable and cosy bed looking out to the lagoon and distant mountains. The Camp is blissfully silent of any human presence and we slept with doors open to the natural forest sounds.
Next days activities involved walking the lagoon track to the Middle Beach campground end and spending a few hours roaming the rocks and reading. We looped back via the Spotted Forest Track.
As a treat we enjoyed lunch at Mimosa Winery just 15 minutes drive down the road!
We just love the lagoon immersion and some downtime from the internet. Although internet is easy to get it from Games Room if really needed!
We love our time at TLC and hope to return again and again!

An amazing trip at a stunning location with a beautiful lagoon in front of our tent surrounded by pristine nature.
Loz was a wonderful host, she supplied us with fresh bread, muesli, jam and milk which made for a beautiful breakfast over our two nights stay.
I love how eco sustainable the whole camp is and the owners passion to keep it that way.
Highly recommend for those looking for an unforgettable experience with hosts that really make sure you’re taken care of! Thank you Loz.

Our stay was non complicated, just turn up and relax in the wide open peaceful space. Loz the owner was always approachable and helpful. If your looking for a getaway place on 40+ acres with no outside electronic interference this is the place to be.
The lagoon beach loop walk was interesting and kyaks/life vests are readily on hand in the tent to use in the lagoon The facilities/utensils in the safari tent are all their and nothing else was needed from home but food for our stay. We cooked each day from items brought from home.
The bushmens TV ( the fireplace, took a beating with plenty of firewood on hand to cook chestnuts/marshmellows).
Bega was dissapointing, though all the coastal towns up and down the immediate area were really pretty, especially Tilba. We bought organic oysters from the wapengo lake area and shucked them at the camp site.
We'll certainly go back to Tanja anytime. They are expanding to include larger groups which should keep them busy. Their ethos on recycling and organics is to be commended.

It’s a magic natural location and we thought the safari tent was perfect for us inexperienced campers. The beds were extremely comfy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped. The eco store products are a really nice touch.
We enjoyed making damper and roasting marshmallows on the campfire. We also tried canoeing on the lagoon as a family for the first time which was exciting.
The kids loved seeing the kangaroos everyday and swimming at nearby Birthry Inlet.

This was our first time glamping and we were not disappointed! The tents were extremely comfortable with high quality inclusions, a lovely bathroom and great kitchen. Breakfast of local produce including muesli, sourdough bread, honey, butter and milk was provided. We also got a cheese platter as part of our package which we enjoyed sitting on our deck admiring the view and listening to the sounds of nature. We enjoyed the walking tracks to the beach as well as kayaking the lagoon on the provided kayaks. Each tent has its own life jackets. We spent 3 nights at the Camp and would happily have stayed longer. Would highly recommend!

We went bush camping with our kids on the South Coast for years and so it was a great treat to spend three nights at Tanja Lagoon Camp celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I love life under canvas, the fresh air and outside world so close. Here we ate our meals out on the deck nestled amongst the coastal mahoganies, sat up in bed with cups of tea and watched the day unfolding on the lagoon below. We saw 25 new species of birds, had two fabulous early morning canoe trips. We sat outside with an open fire one night and enjoyed listening to the rain on the canvas another. If you want a fabulous "leave no trace" camping trip I thoroughly recommend Tanja Lagoon Camp

Wow wow wow I googled glamping central coast and Tanjalagoon popped up. Looked fantastic so booked a 2 day stay for my daughter and I. To say we found paradise is an understatement. We booked into spoonbill with the freestanding bath absolute bliss. The attention to detail is just fantastic. Loz and sam have truly created the most amazing retreat. Truly appreciating Mother Nature. Bamboo cotton bed linen eco friendly mind blowing pellet heater down to the loo roll. Wood and pellets are provided there’s also canoes to use. I am definitely returning on a regular basis. We left so refreshed and just truly appreciative of the utopia loz and sam have created.

We stayed 2 nights but could easily stay longer. Completely relaxing nature experience. Friendly wallabies everywhere and large variety of birds making for a real bushland experience while living in total comfort. Friendly welcome was a great start. Nearby Tathra offers great eating and the cafe on the wharf has outstanding coffee. Highly recommend.

It was simply one of the nicest holidays I have spent in my life...
The location was amazing, hearing the sounds of the crashing waves from the beach at night, and the bell birds and kookaburras at sunrise and sunset simply made my heart happy.
Sam and Loz have created a beautiful and comfortable place to live whilst on holiday. Everything you could need is there, all tastefully selected and clean and tidy. It was one of the snuggest beds I have ever slept in.
On arrival we were greeted by no less than 25 kangaroos (which Sam later told me some were rescues they had raised). This leads me to my final point was that it was so wonderful to know that our holidays were making a light environmental footprint and was in some ways giving back to the environment through their recycling of grey water to their worm farm and more... It was a delight and I would go back in a second as there are still so many beach walks to explore.

We had the most wonderful getaway to Tanja Lagoon Camp on the Sapphire Coast, there is absolutely nothing we could fault!!
From the moment we arrived, we were speechless, Loz was very helpful and made us so welcome. As we didn't have too far to travel she allowed us to check in early and check out late which was amazing meaning we got almost an extra day.
The tent was beautifully laid out with absolutely everything you could need, and with the stove it was so cosy. We were supplied with delicious fresh, local produce for breakfast and fully stocked with pellets for the stove and plenty of firewood for the outside private campfire and a private bbq. Not to mention a wonderful view of the lagoon from our camp.
We spent a few days in bliss with no connection to the outside world, enjoying nature and our beautiful surrounds.
Our highlights were:
definitely the comfiest bed ever!
access to the lagoon; hopping into a boat and making our way to the beautiful secluded beach. Sitting around the campfire toasting toasting marshmallows and star gazing and strolling around the ground spotting the friendly resident kangaroos.
This has been one of our favourite trips in NSW. We would highly recommend this place to everyone we hope we can go back sometime. Why camp when you can glamp! :) thank you!
