Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the top class amenities and quiet relaxing atmosphere of the camp from beginning to end. Loz and Sam were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely visit again, can highly recommend.

Our 2 night stay at TLC was as wonderful as our first visit in Feb23. We arrived 5pm and immediately jumped into a canoe and paddled to Middle Beach causing a frenzy of frantic clumsy flight departures off the water of black swans and water hens bobbing in the lagoon! Arriving back energised we enjoyed drinks watching the sparkling sunset across the lagoon from our cabin deck and later a stay-in cooked meal from the well equipped kitchen. We also helped ourselves to the provided milk, coffee, muesli and bread over our stay. After dinner we created and sat around a handsome fire we made in the pit using wood and fire-starters provided. Finally a hot shower with great water pressure was the perfect way to relax before climbing into the very comfortable and cosy bed looking out to the lagoon and distant mountains. The Camp is blissfully silent of any human presence and we slept with doors open to the natural forest sounds. Next days activities involved walking the lagoon track to the Middle Beach campground end and spending a few hours roaming the rocks and reading. We looped back via the Spotted Forest Track. As a treat we enjoyed lunch at Mimosa Winery just 15 minutes drive down the road! We just love the lagoon immersion and some downtime from the internet. Although internet is easy to get it from Games Room if really needed! We love our time at TLC and hope to return again and again!

Stayed in the spoon bill and was blown away by the location, serenity and appearance of our tent... from the ensuite, kitchen to the welcome breakfast package it was all excellent.. just what we needed to get away from it all... the lagoon was full of all different bird life and the books available were helpful in identifying the birds... middle beach is not too far away to paddle in a canoe..( can be testing with a strong breeze) 10mins approx... felt like no one was around for miles... the bed was comfortable . Couldn't of asked for anything better.. Will definitely return

Tanja lagoon Camp is a special place & the accommodation is perfect. Wonderful environment & the view through the trees to the lagoon is amazing - even from the bed. A peaceful relaxing place to stay & well done to Loz & Sam for taking on the challenge of restoring this property to its natural beauty. Good birding sites. C & P Lightfoot

Had a relaxing couple of nights at Tanja Lagoon Camp. A beautiful, peaceful place to just take in the view and nature. So many places to explore on this pristine coastline. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. We were welcomed by Sam and Loz, with some local breakfast goodies (Sourdough, eggs, milk, butter and Honey) which we enjoyed. It is also just a short drive into Tathra where you can view the migrating Whales while having a cold beer at the historic Tathra Hotel. Thank you

We recently had two nights at this camp and it was a wonderful experience. The location is idyllic and the safari-style tents are very comfortable. Having a modern bathroom and kitchen made our stay extra special. The view from our tent over the lagoon was spectacular. And we thoroughly recommend the walk along the lagoon to Middle Beach. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Tanja Lagoon Camp.

What an amazing place. We have spent 2 nights in the tent (glamping) which is a highly maintained facility with fire place within and all needed. You view the lagoon from your tent. During day time kangaroos are sound. You are surrounded by an orchestra of birds. Walking the trails around. The owner is amazing and can advice. But just relaxing , see no one around but nature is all what one needs. Fantastic

We went bush camping with our kids on the South Coast for years and so it was a great treat to spend three nights at Tanja Lagoon Camp celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I love life under canvas, the fresh air and outside world so close. Here we ate our meals out on the deck nestled amongst the coastal mahoganies, sat up in bed with cups of tea and watched the day unfolding on the lagoon below. We saw 25 new species of birds, had two fabulous early morning canoe trips. We sat outside with an open fire one night and enjoyed listening to the rain on the canvas another. If you want a fabulous "leave no trace" camping trip I thoroughly recommend Tanja Lagoon Camp

This is the perfect quiet tranquil escape. No noise distractions except the thump of kangaroo feat as they happily hop by the tent. Canoe and swin in the lagoon, bush walks and Bar-B-Q. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

For three days, we didn't see another human but we did enjoy the kangaroo families, echidnas and bird life. The waterfront accommodation was pure luxury with everything we could have asked for. We strolled the designated pathways and went swimming at the beach. Just wonderful.
