A large family group split over three chalets in a beautiful area of South Scotland. Lodges were great value and the site bar and restaurant were comfortable and relaxed. Only downfall was that as each chalet slept 6/8 we felt that the living room areas were not quite as spacious as needed for that amount of people. And in one...

Often we stay away and while enjoying ourselves we look forward to going home for the creature comforts. Here though we had plenty of space, comfortable furniture, a 50" TV and all the mod cons including dishwasher. I would happily move in. It was particularly pleasant watching the birds feeding through the large windows. Beach a walkable distance, handy bar/restaurant...

The Chalet sleeps 6 and is dog friendly. It is very well equipped. There is an upper level where there is a King size bed with toilet and sink in an adjacent room. There are also 2 single beds on the upper level too. A stair gate was present for toddle safety. A small sofa tv and dvd player and...

This is the third time we have stayed here in a row and also in the same lodge which is actually owned by a couple called Andy & Jennifer who also own and run Monkhouse Hill Cottages (and we’ve stayed there many a time as well!). In terms of the lodge, everything was fine and as we have come to...

We had a fantastic time at Barend for New Year. The pub is fantastic and the dog loved the cosy fire. The cabin was lovely and warm and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of Cava waiting for us (lovely touch). The area caters well for dogs and children and we enjoyed lovely walks along the Solway Coast. Cabin...

From start to finish this place is fantastic. We spent last Christmas here and then booked up straight away for Christmas 2016. The chalets are warm, clean comfortable and the staff are very efficient. The on-site bar has great food and the facilities (pool, sauna, laundry) are all great. Fully fully recommend!

Stayed here for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year. Fabulous, cozy, 2 storey cabin with balcony views across the small loch to the hills beyond.
