My brother booked a table for Mothers Day by phone for lunch at 1:30pm. The Sunday before he visited with his partner to have a Sunday roast to ensure it was ok, he also confirmed the table booking. He and his partner enjoyed the Sunday roast where the vegetables were bought out in dishes and he was full of compliments....

Staff were very helpful & attentive. Didn't get chance to sample the food but was very impressed with the room especially for the price. Large TV, central heating, decent sized room, en suite bathroom (shower was amazing!) There were lots of nice little touches in the room too, like free bottles of water, nice miniature shower gels, body lotion, shampoo,...

They serve a modern classic British menus serving good food and good beer. The bedrooms are a little tired but ok for the pice. However the...

Inside I felt a little bit underwhelmed ... it's quite spartan ..plain walls and scrubbed wooden tables take the modernistic theme a bit far... but the service was great and the food very good...Sunday lunch was beautifully served on nice crockery.. all the glasses etc were very clean and I enjoyed my time there...well done chef

Stayed here a month or so ago, very reasonably priced room (£50) per night, and a good sized room - double bed, separate bathroom, TV, and tea / coffee making facilities with some free biscuits. I had my evening meal in the pub (they do have a separate restaurant room) Now call me picky, but I would have given this...

We went to the Horse & Groom for Sunday lunch, 4 adults, a baby & 2 dogs. We were welcomed in by lovely staff who were very attentive, polite & helpful throughout the whole time we were there. The atmosphere was cosy in the bar with a log fire and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back...

My wife and I had a two night stay last weekend at this country inn. The room was well appointed with a comfy bed, huge TV, lots of hangers and plenty of hot water for the shower. We ate in the pub on both nights and the food was of a high standard (we recommend the focaccia bread starter). The...

I booked an evening meal for a party of 7, including two American visitors. Had a great meal but the abiding memory was of Paula, the cheerful, friendly and ultra-efficient manager. She proved that no matter how "up market" or smart an establishment is, there is no substitute for a ready smile and a bit of humour. Well done Paula...
