While I have not actually revisited the A1 Gypsy, but I visited their WEBSITE today. I found the exact cabin we rented via similar brochure in 2009, the #16 Shangrila. This cabin seems to have been greatly improved since our visit then - especially the very new-looking kitchen and the entire whirlpool room. The living room and bedroom were very...

Loved our little cabin in the woods on Cranberry Lake. Ours was a separate 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin up/down the road from the office's main cabins. We were right on the lake front with unobstructed views and our own boat dock. It wasn't fancy but it was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable week "off the...

I’ll start by stating that I found a certificate for this resort that was less then stated rates on web site so I decided to give it try as a surprise with my wife and our four legged kid. We were scheduled to stay on the island in cabin 6, a few weeks ahead of arriving I read a few...

My family and I just got back from a weekend at this resort, if you can call it that. their website lists it as a resort with access to a beach, watersports etc. there was no beach, no kayaks or paddleboards and the Island cottage was very outdated and rundown. The place was not kept up and we were out...

Our resort has 2 beaches that he could have used. Water sports are available, we have sport tubes, waterskies, skiboggans. We also have fishing boats, pontoon boats, canoes and a paddleboat. We never said we had kayaks or paddleboards but they can be rented nearby. The cabin is well kept, clean and maintained. There were some leaf piles in the...

My son and I recently stayed here. First I should say that we are frequent patrons who stay every year. We have been in the cabins but this time we stayed in the hill crest which is a 1 bedroom witha pull out sofa bed shower in the bathroom hot tub in the bedroom and a full size kitchen. As...

We just returned from 3 nights at an island villa (#4). Our boys loved staying on an island and experiencing nature. My 10-year-old made friends with a duck family. We saw loons, geese, osprey, mallards and eagles, to name a few. We did rent a pontoon for 24 hours and explored more of the huge chain of lakes, that was...

Recently got back from Eagle River, Wi. Was the first time up north. A true remote getaway where we were on Cranberry Island with access to a 25 foot pontoon boat. We seen eagles diving for fish, sound of loons everyday, deer in the forest, muskrats in the back waters, catching pan fish on almost every cast when you find...

This "resort" is very misleading in its advertising. We stayed at an island villa and ended up leaving early. The decor was from 70s and the shag carpet and strange fuzzy red pillows (it was like they had carpet on them) felt gross and dirty. Everything had an old smell. The TV didn't work and just had a VHS player....

The owners were very helpful and friendly and we loved our time there. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Fishing was great; we took our boat and Dean was very helpful getting the boat in/out of water. We would definitely go back!
