We had the most wonderful time at Fraser Coast RV Park and stayed in the beautiful Mango Lodge. The interior was so beautifully decorated and the cleanliness was excellent. So much space and a very comfortable bed.

Suzanne was so friendly and welcoming as soon as we stepped into the reception, giving us everything we needed and also cared about our further adventures in the vicinity and to Fraser Island.

We only stayed for one night but could easily have stayed here a week just embracing nature and relaxing. One of the things we loved the most was the bathtub located on the backside, here you get beautiful sunsets and the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine and perhaps spot a Kangaroo or two roaming around in the area. We actually saw about 20 of them in the area around the RV Park.

This is the best place to stay for anyone about to visit Fraser Island or coming back from an adventure here. We would easily recommend this place to anyone and would definitely not mind returning here one day.

Sincerely,
Sofia and Fredrik

We are absolutely thrilled and delighted that you got to experience our unique cabin set down the back of the property next to the nature reserve. The photos of you in the open-air bath are the best we have seen. We are also thrilled that you got to experience seeing lots of kangaroos and we look forward to welcoming you back to Mango Lodge when you are next visiting Fraser Island. All the best and safe travels, Suzanne & Paul.

Absolutely loved our stay at this immaculately maintained park. So much love, time and effort put in by the owners to create and maintain this fabulous park. Owners were very accommodating when we had vehicle issues and needed to extend our stay. Lots of room to spread out and set up, unlike so many parks today. We also loved our daily visits and pats with Rosie, the four-legged park manager. We can't wait to come back and stay again.

Showers, wash room and bush kitchen were glamping standard. Hard to find better facilities camping anywhere.

Yes there were midgees but where aren't they on the Fraser coast?

Great for Fraser ferry access. Also recommended a dog sitter for us whilst on Fraser who was amazing.

The campsite itself was in a nice location but that was the only nice part of this camping spot... The people managing this site have absolutely no people skills and do not care about customer service. Very rude to us and we’re not willing to answer our questions face to face after checking in. When we had questions we went to the house and they would only speak to us via intercom (and this was not at 6am or the middle of the night). Any questions we asked she would reply “it’s on the website” . Oh and basically 1 car = 1 campsite so be prepared if you are camping with other groups as bringing another car will mean your being charged additionally for “additional campsites” even if you are sharing one campsite. When we asked if we could park our car somewhere outside the campsite as we did not need it to be in the campsite with us, we were told very rudely “then I prefer you just stay somewhere else”. Also there are no toilets or shower facilities unless you book them separately but apparently “it’s on the website”...... so we paid $240 for 2 nights with no toilets or showers. We will not be back.

The campsite is set in a great location, BUT, the sand flies are absolutely rampant. We have left a day early as I have had a severe redaction to them. Our friends have all left as well. It would have been good to have some warning about the sand flies when booking, not the day before with access details, which also said they sold all the insect repellants.

A pretty place to come in winter. The midges nearly carried us away. Screens didn’t even protect us. Great bush kitchen but no showers or toilets (even though there is a amenity block) if camping or in your own caravan. They seem to hire them out individually. Get me out of here... more bites!!!!!! Ugh!

HELL on Earth. Booked for three nights, left in the first 3 seconds. Front gate doesn’t even open unless someone opens it for you, meaning no owner no access. There is only one person there in the entire park…the owner, who charges an arm and a leg for a 100mL bottle of insect repellent. Middle of nowhere and extremely sketchy. No beaches, pool, or life except for the mosquitoes eating you alive. Don't stay there in summer, winter, spring, autumn. Be thankful you saw this review and run! No refund either good riddance!

What a shame you could not stay to enjoy the amazing facilities we have here. It is a pity you elected not to buy any Good Riddance products ($25 100ml Tube) as you said that you would buy your own repellent. Currently the mosquitoes are everywhere due to the higher than average rain fall. We do not have insects during the cooler months and we take offence to you saying don't stay there at any time when we enjoy many visitors staying here because of our outstanding facilities and service. Our prices are reasonable at $35 per night for an unpowered site and $45 for a powered site and children are an extra $5 each. We offer a commercial laundry service for $4 and yes we do not have a pool as we are a nature based park with 40 acres dedicated to Land for Wildlife where you can connect with nature and see some of the 69 species of birds that have been spotted on the property, and kangaroos in the wild. We are not in the middle of nowhere, we are actually only 15 minutes from Hervey Bay which is a major township and also has many beaches to enjoy. We are also in close proximity to the Fraser Island (K'gari) Ferry being just 3 minutes away, so we are ideally located for anyone wishing to travel to K'gari. By the sounds of this review, you won't be using the credit you have been given to come back and stay anytime, so we will cancel that, which is a shame as you could have enjoyed the many fishing spots we have here at River Heads. I thought it was a bit strange when you elected not to take a copy of the local fishing map when you arrived. We are a husband and wife team who live on the premises and we take great pride in offering a unique experience. We are an independent run park, Not a big 4.

We stayed there 2 nights. Super welcoming owner, gave us a few nice advice for the rest of our trip.
The camping ground is really well maintained, really cute and super clean. We loved the fact that it was more like a National park Camp than an RV park, it’s quite in the bush but with everything you need (great shower, nice kitchen...)
The only thing are the mozzie and the sand flies that were there in quantity when we were there. But opportunity to make a nice fire (easy to collect wood by yourself).
The price seems to be the same as everywhere else around here.

This is a lovely setting for authentic Bush camping. There’s a full open kitchen area, great showers and a beautiful walk around the grounds to see kangaroos. Take bug spray though there’s lots of midges I got eaten alive!

Thanks for your review Carol. We are glad you enjoyed our wonderful bush setting. We supply Mangrove Magic in the office and can also give you some mozzie coils. If the conditions are right then there are midges, just like anywhere else in this natural bushland setting. Next time I would be happy to give you some product if you don't have any. All the best and safe travels, Suzanne

A lovely, spacious Aussie bush setting. Paul & Suzanne go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. They booked a bus trip to Fraser Island for us, we were picked up at the park and dropped back that night, knowing our van was safe. If you have a van with all life’s necessities you can hide out down the back of the park, great if there is a group of you.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We really appreciate your feedback and yes it is a great place to camp, especially down the back away from everything and everyone. Not that we have a lot of issues with space here on the 75 acres. Glad you got to experience the delights of Fraser Island and Lake McKenzie with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Take care.
