There has not been a trip Lewisburg where I miss out on going to the General Lewis. The Inn is located perfectly just blocks from the center of town. From the staff to the food, it's all divine. The owners have found a perfect balance of improving the necessary to keep the Inn at it's best, while still maintaining a... More

The inn was charming. Our room (211) was very spacious, with a canopy bed plus an area with a small sofa, coffee table, and arm chair. The bathroom was very small, and the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but that did not detract. The bed was comfortable, and two windows looked out onto the back patio... More

This larger B&B retains all the charm of a small B&B with more rooms. Home baked cookies and bar with table games at the fireplace all fit very well with the feel. Close to historic area of LewisBurg so walking to theater or dinner is easy. The rooms all looked great. Our room was priced a bit higher than some... More

The General Lewis Inn is Lewisburg's gem sitting on a small hillside in the historic district just 2 blocks from the center of town. Built in 1834 with its stately columns, the Inn has 25 rooms on its 2 floors including the 1928 addition. We reserved room 204, (located in the original section of the inn) the beautiful blue West Virginia... More

Stayed here with friends for a long weekend. This is a gem that is well worth experiencing - but don't expect modern, large rooms. Instead enjoy a sense of what it must have been like 100 years ago to stay in a top notch Inn where people gather around the bar just off the lobby to chat over a nice... More

The general Lewis inn at Lewisburg WV is a very nice destination for a weekend trip. The Inn is very comfortable with many antiques and comfortable rooms. The room we had was well appointed a with antique furniture but did have a tv. The bathroom was nice but small, with comfortable towels and locally made soap. The location is close... More

The General Lewis Inn is a one of a kind treasure but the new owners, who own another restaurant down the street, have closed the dining room except on Friday-Monday, What a shame. I will come back when the dining room and the good food and reasonable meal prices return.

Very disappointing experience. Made the reservation and PAID in advance in August. They called me twice this week to ask what time I would be arriving. It was starting to feel like I was being pestered. I was put in room 115. As I told the clerk at checkout, this is the room you give to people you hate. It... More

There is quaint and there is outdated. The General Lewis Inn is outdated. There isn't one good thing to say about the bathrooms. The room was not practical or comfortable. Very disappointing experience.

Lovely old inn. Food is consistently good. Have eaten here many times. Always enjoy the antiques in the halls. Have looked in room. Love the authentic period ambiance. Would definitely choose this inn.
