The hotel looks very cool from the outside. When we went to our room, I think that there could be a lot of improvement. The biggest problem was the stains on the carpet. The carpets should probably be replaced. The was one package of coffee (although that was enough for two cups) and one packet of sugar and creamer. We... More

A view of the rooms takes you back into the 1980s. Our room was clean, but lacked amenities, not for the pampered set. The bathroom, however, had been remodeled with new fixtures. Overall, an adequate facility for the outdoors set, not those looking for 3 star comfort. The setting was outstanding.

So this motel is centrally located to Thomas-Davis, WV, Blackwater Falls State Park, Timberline and Canaan Valley state park ski resorts and Dolly Sods USDA National Recreation Area. These are all awesome attractions my wife and I love to visit year round! They also have a nice clean pool for guests although we didn't swim in it because it wasn't... More

We were there only one night and our stay was very nice! The rooms were very clean and very big. The people who ran the hotel were nice and helpful. It was a lovely, quiet location. The rooms were also quiet...we didn't hear a sound so we felt as though we were the only ones in the hotel. There was a... More

Here's the deal, you can spend $152.00 per night at Canaan Valley Resort or $80.08 cash at Windwood Fly-in Resort. No brainer. My friend and I needed a clean, comfortable place to stay while riding motorcycles in the valley. We found this place on the internet and said why not. When we got there, we were greeted by a very... The Windwood Fly-in is a nice place to spend a weekend away from the city. Great panoramic views of the mountains and a short (though thoroughly enjoyable) drive away from the nearest town, Davis. Definitely not a 5-star resort with fancy amenities, but clean and cozy and operated by kind and welcoming people.

We arrived too late to check in (around 7 PM), but there was an envelope with the key and a letter asking me to please check in the following morning. When we did, the woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and understanding. The room was perfect for a one-night stay on our road trip, and the heat in... More

I realky like this place. I have stayed here several times. I fly my small airplane into the attached airstrip. No fuel or FBO aviation services here, but it is a well maintained 3000 ft asphalt runway at 3000 ft altitude. Be aware of density altitude in the summer. I come every October to base here to see the astonishingly... More

We stayed there for a boy scout ski weekend. My son stayed at the bunkhouse with the boys while my daughter and I stayed in one of the rooms. The rooms were clean and roomy. The shower was a little bizarre, but after I got some instructions on how to operate it, I had no issues. The bunkhouse was cool... More
