After 13 years of marriage and nine years of children under foot, my wife and I were in desperate need of a long weekend get-a-way. Our main requirement was the final destination must be within a three hour drive of home. We quickly settled on the Highlawn Inn of Berkeley Springs, mainly due to prior guest reviews, proximity, and availability...

Just returned from a wonderful visit to Berkeley Springs. The Highlawn Inn was exceptionable- clean, with well kept gardens, and quiet. Sandy and her staff were great. My husband and I tried to go on the cheap by taking one of the less expensive rooms but it turned out to be quaint and comfortable with its own private porch overlooking...

The purpose of the visit was for a board retreat, 13 participants plus guests. The inn is spotlessly clean, the food as good as it gets, beds comfortable...absolutely nothing to complain about. One of the partners, Sandy, prepares a breakfast buffet that is incedible. The dining room has antique English pub tables that can be easily be set up for...

This is our 14th year of visits to the B & B Highlawn Inn in Berkeley Springs, WV. Sandy and Tim are gracious, helpful hosts who always assist guests to find restaurants, spas, exhibits, events, etc., to make for an enjoyable stay. The most anticipated meal for us is breakfast. Sandy creates delicious dishes using home grown herbs and other...

We have been going to the Highlawn Inn for at least 10 years during the wonderful Valentine Weekend that is celebrated there. Sandy Kauffman, Innkeeper & Chef, is one of the warmest people you will ever meet and you are made to feel like family from the moment you arrive. And assisting Sandy in the welcoming and the continuous role...

I booked this B&B for a mom/daughter getaway. It was such a wonderful place. I cannot say enough good things about it. The innkeeper (Sandy) is the nicest woman, and her breakfast is to die for. The best food I've eaten in a long time. The staff was super friendly & helpful. The B&B is so lovely - lot's of...

We had a lovely two-night stay in this Victorian B&B. We stayed in the main building (there are four), and as you would expect from an old home, the floors creaked and the steam radiators worked hard. It was cold outside, but we were comfortable. The B&B was clean, but a little worn. The breakfasts were very tasty and filling....

My wife and I have stayed here many times; so when we found out Sandy and Tim were having a Thanksgiving Dinner, we jumped at the chance to get away from the city to share this Thanksgiving with them. We had a great time, meeting several other wonderful guests, and browsing at local antique shops. Kay also had a stimulating...

Like staying in the home of a prosperous and attentive Victorian friend. Cleanliness, friendliness and a bountiful gourmet brekfast available for guests. The owner-hostess-cook is the esence of graciousness. My room was cleaned each morning while had breakfast. The breakfasts were almost worth the price of the room and breakfast. Great variety, presented by candlelight in siver compotes, just splendid.
