Came here for business. Looked at three rooms: 2 kings and 1 queen room. All the rooms were small. Two rooms had a terrible mildew smell which the front desk said may be new carpets but the smell came from the AC. I ended up...More

This was the first time I have stayed at this hotel. The check in staff were very friendly and my room was clean and quiet. Convenient location and hotel had a good breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.
At the last minute we had to change plans and ended up needing a place to stay in Yakima. Since we had Marriott Rewards points, this was a good choice--Category 3 so very reasonable when paying with points.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable...More
Currently 78% of TA reviewers rate this hotel as Excellent or Very Good. Perhaps that’s true compared to other hostelries in Yakima, Washington, but I just can’t do it. This Fairfield is "Average" for a Fairfield Inn, and Fairfields are, if memory serves me right,...More

Hi Clark, good question since it would appear from the post that we "gave away" the room. We did not "give away" the room, but just like airlines there are times that a hotel becomes overbooked on a particular room type. When this happens we can't asked guests to " give up their seat' like airlines. What we do is look at several factors and try to accommodate all reservations. In this case, we went by what the person had reserved, a room with 2 beds but only 1 guest in the room. We therefore, tried to accommodate the guest with a room that matched what had been reserved. The lesson here is always make sure you tell the conservationist how many people are in the room, hotels will not put 3-4 people in a room with only one bed when the reservation has 2 queen beds listed. Hope this helps!
