We have stayed here twice while visiting wine country and absolutely love it. The hospitality of the staff is unparalleled. The manager, Tim was a delight...visiting with all the quests and going out of his way to make our stay memorable. We stayed on a busy weekend and unfortunately they were booked for dinner, but upon our return to the... More

We stayed here Aug 23. The occasion was dinner for a good friend's retirement party. We stayed in the Sunrise room in the annex and was a delight. Breakfast was awesome, a havarti cheese and chive omlett and figs with a balsamic reduction. The pool area was nice and good balance with sun and shade. It is so quiet there,... More

I began frequenting this place when it first opened and I lived in the area, although back then I just went for fabulous dinners on special occasions. It has since grown but the service and charm are still there, as well as great food. This is located a little outside Yakima in the heart of the agricultural area which adds... More

We stayed at the Birchfield Manor based on the ratings in Fodor's and we definitely were not disappointed. We were visiting wine country in the Yakima area, and wanted to stay close, but not in town. This was a great decision. We stayed in the Sunset Cottage and it was lovely. The highlight, was the wonderful breakfasts served by one... More

Stayed in the guest cottage, room was large and clean enough, hot tub is a nice touch. Small balcony to overlook the surrounding fields. Quiet and restful at the property. It is a bit of a drive to Yakima downtown. Breakfast the next morning was served at one sitting time only, everyone sat at long tables together and food was... More

Wife and I came here for a quick weekend getaway across Chinook Pass from Seattle. We chose this place because they accept well-behaved dogs. Easy to find. The grounds are nice, well-landscaped. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a small patio area with a private entrance. Proprietors gave us a recommendation to a great Mexican restaurant, El Mirador, right... More

As other reviews note, the restaurant serves excellent food - with the exception of really poor bread. As also noted there is no fridge in the room or ice available, and virtually no closet space to hang clothes (we had to pull out a quilt just so we could hang a couple of shirts). But the really ridiculous thing about... More

We drove over the mountains with another couple for an extended weekend of wine drinking indulgence . The check-in process amounted to us waiting for about 15 minutes for an employee to return with our room keys, he walked us up to the rooms and that was it. Turns out, when we got our bill upon checkout, we were given... More

I spent just one night here on a whirlwind trip to Yakima to visit some old friends and family. As promised- by family who had stayed here previously- I found the experience to be very pleasant. Birchfield has a long held and positive reputation in the valley for its fine accomodations and wonderful multi-course dinners. The inn is located just... More

If there is one running argument yet to be settled between my fiance and I, is the argument about which way to live is better. Is planning out every little detail a better way to go, or is it more fun and exciting to fly by the seat of your pants. She's the planner, while I'm the flier. Well, in... More

“The rooms in the main house are large and comfortable, most with Victorian-type decor. The Elizabeth room overlooks the grounds and pool, and is nice and quiet. The rooms in the newer building are more modern, have balconies/porches overlooking the pond, and have modern electronics.”
