Rude and dishonest owners avoid this place like the plague if you're smart. It is definitely a bait-and-switch establishment so beware. The owners tell you one thing but after they have your credit card they change their story and do not live up to their promises.

I am sorry that you decided to leave us a review without ever having stayed with us. I understand that you are upset, but leaving us a poor review for lack of planning on your part lacks tact and respect for small businesses everywhere. We clearly communicated all of our facilities, reservations and cancellation policies to you when you made...

This is a beautiful location. You can really tell that this hostel has been built with the sweat and love of the owners. The Hard Dixon cabin is wonderful, and the hostel is an excellent home base to go hiking from. I would recommend this to anyone!

This hostel is well above average in cleanliness and hospitality. It's also a 1 minute walk from the downtown area, while not actually being in it. They provide decent earplugs to reduce any snoring annoyances, which is thoughtful and useful. The bunkbeds are built solidly and are spaced far enough apart that you have your own little area. The bedding...

This is the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. Overall a friendly, warm, and cozy experience. In addition to a great experience I had left my toiletry bag which contained my passport, nursing RN badge, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items. This bag stayed on the shelf untouched for three days until I could return to retrieve it. Not only...

Loved the place. We stayed in the Mt. Bungalow cabin for three nights. A cool homey cabin that fits 4 people quite comfortably. Awesome little deck and courtyard with a communal bbq. The owner, Paul, was super helpful and friendly. Will be returning for another stay for sure.

The North Cascades Mountain Hostel is conveniently located on a hillside just a block from the heart of downtown Winthrop. Those who love the allure of the old west will find Winthrop just their cup of tea. All of the buildings are built to have that western feel, and a walk along the boardwalks of main street makes you feel...

Staying at North Cascades Mountain Hostel felt like staying with old friends, and it was such an overwhelmingly positive experience that I'm already scheming up ways to go back and visit again. I left with my sides aching from laughter and my feet blistered from forging 18 mile trails with new hostel friends on treks that I never imagined possible...

I only planned to stay for one night and ended up with 3. Almost turned around on the last day and stayed longer :-) I really enjoyed the communal feel of this hostel. Total find. I'm more of a casual boutique hotel type person, usually, But there are so many cool new "micro" style offerings popping up on the that I checked to see if Winthrop had any of that going on when I knew I was headed there for a fast overnight stay. Low and behold....for $75 on a Sat night at...
