My stay at the Glenacres Inn was full of surprises! Set at the end of a long driveway sits the welcoming Inn with stories of years past welcoming and inviting. A beautiful home built in 1898 and as one enters a winding staircase that brings you to rooms that are quaint and comfortable. I stayed in room 2 which was...

I stayed in the room above the carriage house. It was very clean and quiet. I loved the jetted tub. The room was very comfortable with a small refrigerator and older, small tv. It was a perfect place to read and relax.

You've heard never assume, well I assumed and boy did I get screwed! First like a previous reviewer we were in some sort of annex of cheap smelly old tiny rooms the main inn looks beautiful these is the overflow rooms where the creepiest people stay for sure. For 2 nights we smelled fish from the room next and he's...

Great location for the charter boat fishing. They have many suggestions for things to do in Westport. The Inn is charming. Dish network with lots of channels and the wi-fi is excellent. The cabins are spacious and bright. We saw dear in the meadows, the baby deer still had their spots. Worth staying here for sure! Rooms are non smoking...

Beautiful building on outside, inside not so good. Stayed in room 10 which was an add on not in the actual inn. Opened door and was hit by an overwhelming smell of mold. There were no electrical outlets in bathroom, no bath soap just hand soap. Bed was creaky but fairly comfortable. Towels were nice. Analog tv. It was quiet...

This was a nice place with everything we needed, including a microwave and counter height refrigerator. Room 12 is on the end, so was quiet. It had twin and queen beds. Clean and neat, but don't expect perfection. I found the twin bed very comfy, but the queen my daughter slept in was less so. Good pillows! The shower controls...

Built in 1898 and looks charming from the outside, but inside is another story. Our room was icy cold and we had to move a couch to find the baseboard heater. It worked so poorly that it was 3am before we could get rid of some of the extra blankets we had thrown over ourselves. This is definitely not a...

Your misconception about The Glenacres Inn is regrettable, we are not a bed and breakfast and don’t advertise to be one. Thank you for alerting us to your issues with the room, though had you done so during your stay we would easily have rectified the problem you had with the heat. (Baseboard is only a backup to our central...

Four of us stayed in the 2 Story Cottage in August. The pictures looked inviting and the owner was nice but I was quite disappointed. The smell of mildew on the first floor was really overwhelming for a person with a good sense of smell. The days were nice so I tried airing out the place but it didn't help....

Thank you for your feedback. While a first for us, your perception of a mildew smell in the Carriage House has prompted treatments in suspect areas (likely around landing of front door due to a weathered door seal.) Your comments about storage space has also informed remedies since your stay, and the door lock that caused you difficulty has been...

My husband and I booked a cottage for a weekend to coincide with a fishing charter my husband was taking. As luck would have it, a huge storm blew in and the charter was cancelled last minute. It was too late to cancel our accommodations and I’m glad that was the case because this place is just lovely. We reserved...

Thank you for your fortitude under those extenuating circumstances! We promote the adventure in experiencing Westport's wild and feisty weather side in our stormier season, but that kind of event is a bit more than we have in mind (in August!).

Great little place, great value. Floors squeak when you walk, but that is expected with a home that old. Didn't get to do the breakfast part, got up before the sun to get to the charter to fish, but the family that runs the place sure seamed like I would have WANTED to be there.

When we acquired the property the floors were sorely lacking in that vintage sound feedback quality. So we invested dearly in having it reengineered for that affect. Thanks for noticing.
