My husband and I have stayed at the Betty MacDonald Farm numerous times over the years. It is an experience that rests the soul. The rooms have a wonderfully cozy feel due to Judith's creative touch everywhere.........antiques, beautiful china to use for setting the table, fresh flowers, a fire in the fireplace to take the chill from the air when...

Located on six very private acres, we stayed in the private cottage next to the original Betty MacDonald Farm Barn (seen in photo above). Our fridge was stocked with organic farm fresh eggs and asian pears grown on the property. The master bedroom is totally private and walled with cedar which added a lovely cedar scent to our cottage stay,...

Greeted by a hand written note with my name and arrow pointing to the direction of the cottage. Upon entry the cottage had a strong musty smell, and roaring fire blazing in the wood stove, most likely to cover the musty smell. It was not cold enough to warrant a fire. A sign on the fridge says "Bed and Breakfast,...

It had been a very cool morning so i did make a fire, the cottage is all cedar, cozy and has a stunning view. This was one woman trying to impress two others and not sure when they are happy. They were greeted by me, welcomed and given directions for dinner. they left went out to dinner and in the...

I have wanted to visit Vashon since reading Betty Macdonalds books more than 40 years ago . We stayed in the loft ,situated in a barn on the site of the farmland , there was no access to the original house if indeed it still exists. We walked along the beach to it but although there were a couple which...

The author of "The Egg and I" Betty MacDonald, used to own this farm and raised 4,000 chickens in the barn. Our room was a 2BR cottage attached to the barn. The clawfoot tub had a room of its own with plants and window surround. EVERYTHING was comfy, The kitchen fully stocked for any sort of cooking. We got local...

This was my third time to Betty MacDonald's , and somehow it gets better each time. The views, the peace and quiet, the lush grounds and the oh so inviting rooms are only matched by our host Judith. She is gracious, knowledgeable and so kind, with just the right amount of visiting and allowing for privacy. If you want a...

My friend and I love this quaint B & B and keep coming back each year. The peacefulness of the property is soothing and hard to find anywhere else. I have never slept on softer sheets, experienced such refreshing breezes, or felt so absolutely taken care of at any other B & B or hotel. The full moon was the...

My boyfriend and I visited Vashon Island for a wedding and stayed at the Betty Macdonald Farm for two nights. Our only regret is that we didn’t have longer to fully bask in its unique charm. Upon entering the cottage, nestled behind a peaceful and lush amount of greenery overlooking the water and shoreline of the Puget Sound and an...

I recently stayed in the Loft at the Betty MacDonald Farm and loved the whole experience. The view of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier was breathtaking as were the eagles soaring around and landing in the nest right off my balcony. The grounds were beautiful with lovely spots to sit, read and reflect. The Loft itself, on the top floor...

We spent a few days last August at this wonderful and idyllic place. Judith was an excellent host - she was so generous with her time (telling us what to do in Vashon). It's the perfect solo/couple/friends getaway. The view from the farm of the Sound is stunning and the island has so much to offer. The farm is perfectly...
