Bedrooms were well kept, spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. Once you turn your lights off the room is almost black which was awesome havnt slept in such a dark room in a while. Felt really refreshed when I woke up. Shared bathrooms and living areas were well presented. The organic local soaps were a treat. The only fault I found was all the meals at the cafe next door which was the only cafe in the town were organic/vegetarian. Just wanted bacon and eggs, I could be fussy though. All in all it was a good stay
Celestial Dew offers a beautiful house with a massive verandah at the front, with large chairs to curl up in and relax. It overlooks a lawn, and with surrounding hills, makes for what could be a very peaceful stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the linen is as fine quality as promised, and sufficient amenities to do some basic cooking. Being a very small town, Flutterbies (on the same property) offers just about the only restaurant option in the area. But luckily it offers a wide, varied menu, and a great ambience - with all sort of different areas (a bar, live music section, tables nestled in the garden) - which surprisingly can be just as appealing in the evening as during the day. If you don't feel like cooking for the weekend, you can definitely get away with eating there for your meals. Unfortunately the downside for this particular stay was the breakdown in communication that happened in the booking process. It seemed the B&B was in the process of changing management, which resulted in us arriving to a few surprises. While we originally believed we had booked the whole house, we were told on arrival that we would have someone staying with us in the 4th room. As it turned out, for a number of reasons, this wasn't a problem, but it was extremely disappointing given that we had specifically chosen to book out an entire house. We were also told on arrival that there would be a long table lunch on the Saturday morning, to be hosted on the front lawn of the property. The lawn is directly in front of the house. Setting up for this event started at 7 AM. When we returned from a walk, we discovered lunch guests enjoying some drinks and cigarettes on the verandah (and one trying to come in to use the bathroom!), leaving us to sit inside for the afternoon. This was an unusual situation, so can be overlooked, but bear in mind when you book that a town market is said to take place on the lawn each Saturday from 9 - 3 (approx.), with the requisite setting up beforehand. We then woke up at 6 AM on the Sunday to more commotion, which turned out to be a major racing event being set up on the main road outside the B&B. By 7 AM this was in full swing, with music being played on the loudspeakers and full festivities. Our dreams of a quiet weekend in the country were somewhat shattered by this point. To reiterate, this was an usual set of events, and wouldn't happen on the average weekend, albeit extremely disappointing for us. When we mentioned these problems, we received an apology and a discount, which we appreciated, and take as a sign of the usual service of the staff. To any future guests, just ensure that all details of your stay are double-checked, that you have communication in writing, and bear in mind that this B&B is in the heart of a small town and could well be hosting all sorts of other things while you're there (which may be a good/bad thing, depending on what you're after).…
We didn't have a chance to visit this property. After four days in Australia we flew home because of a family emergency. Our cancellation was very last minute and at a very busy time of year. We were only charged for one day. Thank you Celestial Dew. We will definitely visit you if we have the opportunity to return to Australia. Happy New Year and thank you for your compassion.
Well maintained and restored house. I was greeted with a smile and hosts were helpful in explaining details of the house. Even took my bag for me. Bedroom was clean and linen and complimentary soap/shampoo was provided as well as bathrobes. Bed comfortable and there was a little fan heater available for use, which was appreciated since I had just arrived from a tropical climate. WIFI available only on the balcony as it doesn't reach the rooms. No cell reception here for Vodafone. Sauna also available. Shower and toilet clean and shared. Could hear other guests in the other bathroom very clearly. Overall I appreciated the comfortable, convenient and secure diggs to sleep in overnight after coming home from a farm wedding. Nice little cafe next door. Would stay there again if I just needed a place to crash for the night.…
We were a group of 5, 50+ ladies and were looking for a relaxing weekend. Celestialview gave us just what we wanted. We were welcomed to the beautiful house. The website had recommended Pizza Night at Flutterbies Cafe next door. The pizzas were lovely and the service was excellent. We spent a relaxing day on Saturday, finishing with beauty treatments at the attached salon and then a good, cheap and cheerful dinner at the pub. All in all a very relaxed weekend. I would highly recommend it. The house had four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sauna, a small kitchen, and a lounge area and a large outdoor deck. The owners were very attentive, even supplying organic "bug" spray.
We overnighted at Celestial Dew Tyalgum in order to stay over after seeing a show at the town hall. It's a four bedroom (I think 2 doubles, 1 twin and one single) venue with 2 shared bathrooms and a comfy lounge area with large couches, DVDs, magazines etc. Rooms are sparcely furnished but functional although we could not open the second door of our wardrobe. A small electric heater was provided. Beds were very comfortable and the only downside was that the two windows had cotton curtains which didn't keep the early sun out the next morning. (Maybe people staying in the country like to get up super early?) The house is next door to a spa where you collect the key - one of the managers met us and showed us around - all very friendly. It's also very close to a large and well run café for meals. All in all, a comfortable place to spend a night.…
As with its adjoining quaint café Flutterbies (a must to visit, staff so professional) this B&B is beautifully decorated in classic country style with most of the conveniences of today. A few minor concerns though, it is a B&B but breakfast is extra, no fans in bedrooms (whew in summer), shared lounge seating is for 4 but 6 or 8 guests would be very uncomfortable, small kitchen has no lighting and only a mini bar fridge for 6-8 people. Only TV is only in ONE of the bedrooms. Otherwise a very pleasant stay in a beautiful location.
I very much enjoyed my stay here. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. It is very peaceful, lovely and beautiful here. Absolutely loved the balcony and spent a lot of time there. The flowers are beautiful and the inside is very cute. Definitely a great relaxing break spent here.
The property is amazing, so well appointed and the attention to detail, second to none!! Matches for the candles....coffee beans for the coffee plunger....real milk in the fridge.....robes in the bedrooms....it was just perfect. We felt like we had a weeks holiday.... in just one night. It was so relaxing. Your assistance in accommodating 'undercover' parking for the motorbikes was very much appreciated too. We will certainly be spreading the word, and will be back for another visit, hopefully for more than one night and definitely with a visit to the spa.
I arrived late for a facial at the Apothecary so was expecting a frosty reception but was pleasantly surprised to meet the lovely Noel and Oliver who were amazingly accommodating. Had one of the best facials I've ever had at the stunning spa, then retired to the Celestial Dew which is a gorgeous, lovingly decorated little sanctuary complete with sauna and rambling verandah perfect for glasses of wine and contemplation. Flutterbies café is right next door and offers pretty amazing fare with a lively, warm atmosphere, highly recommend the Friday night pizza night and the big breakfast. Everything about this little town is special - the views, the people and the setting, will certainly be back to this gorgeous home away from home - thank you for an indulgent relaxing break.
