Wow - what a place. It feels not like a hotel, but truly like a home! And even better: it is kept up by a super committed, dedicated and friendly owner... David greeted us nicely upon arrival and showed us around his house and garden. We were taken by surprise how charming David's house and garden is - the pictures... More

Cross between a hostel and bed and breakfast. The host was friendly and informative. Shared kitchen and bath and shared experiences. Some families grilled outside. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and glassware. Stayed in the double bunk room. It was basic but comfortable. We'd stay again.

David is a cordial host and is rather comical. The problem with this "lodge" is that it has little privacy and is noisy, regardless of the "quiet after 10 PM". The house has a few bedrooms which I was told share one bathroom between 2 rooms which sounded reasonable for a middle aged person who couldn't find another place to... More

I host 1,500 guest nights per year essentially by myself. If you look at my 250 reviews on Airbnb you’ll find nothing but happy people. I take very seriously and work very hard to assure the comfort and satisfaction of my guest. I employ an overnight innkeeper who’s job it is to prevent incidents like the one Sharonmmmmmmm(Alison?) is referring... More

A more congenial host you'll not find anywhere. David, the owner of the charming Lodge on Orcas Island is a long-time hotelier with a vision to provide homey, individualized service for a select group of adventurous folks. The Lodge provides a variety of rooms some on-suite, most with a shared bath. Kitchen privileges require you to leave it cleaner than... More

We stayed at The Lodge with friends for a wedding and this place is beautiful. It's about 7 miles inland, private and quiet. Looking at the outside you'd be surprised how nice the inside is. The rooms are nice, although the beds are not so comfy. Pretty firm mattresses. But the layout of the house and property is so pretty... More

The Lodge on Orcas is a warm and comfortable home away from home. The rooms are clean and the beds are super comfy. The shared kitchen provides an economical and convenient facility. The grounds and gardens are lush and beautiful. Munching an apple right off the tree while relaxing in a hammock in the private garden simply cannot be beat.... More

My husband and I stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! Dave, the owner, is supper nice, and the lodge is well appointed with all your basic needs and more. There are lots of comfortable spaces to relax in around the house and the king bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay... More

The lodge was the perfect place for our 20+ family reunion. There was plenty of room for eating, visiting, and hanging out together regardless of the weather, and David Page was a super accomodating host, with his own special brand of hospitality. Besides catching up with family, we enjoyed biking, swimming in fresh lakes, whale-wathcing, meandering in near-by East Sound,... More

This was a great place for our family reunion. Lots of room, great dining area, beautiful garden, close to town. It was clean and comfortable. You want to rent the whole place, renting just a few rooms means sharing bathrooms and kitchen with strangers. Also, they are serious about quiet at 10 p.m. so a big group needs to keep... More

We loved our stay with David on Orcas Island. David is a fantastic host and the place was already set up with everything we needed. He helped recommend things like kayaking to do on the island during our visit. The place has wifi, laundry, bathroom and shower, a set of guidebooks, and plenty of parking. The property is beautiful, the camping... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lodge on Orcas Island is more than a hostel but different than a B & B.We call it a European Style Guest House. We offer 7 private rooms and 1 suite. The 7 rooms share 3 common baths, the kitchen and living areas. The suite has a private bath and sitting area. Although we do not serve food many of our guests appreciate having use of our fully equipped kitchen to cook for themselves. The Lodge is available for rent by the room or you may arrange to have exclusive use of the entire property.A private room/shared bath is $89.The suite is $149.Exclusive use of the entire property is $995.Prices quoted are nightly + 10.1% sales and lodging tax.Unless you opt for exclusive use of the property you can look forward to mingling and getting acquainted with other travelers from around the world. At the Lodge we do not care for the sound of blaring electronics so we are a television free zone.Rather, the sounds you will hear are the trickling of water, bird song, the breeze whispering through the trees, nocturnes by Chopin, ballads by Diana Krall. Our aesthetic is informed by the American Arts and Crafts movement. Though not a museum, you may notice many craftsman inspired touches throughout the house and adjoining property. We emphasize cleanliness. Allergy sufferers and those who are chemically sensitive will appreciate that we use only unscented soaps and cleansers for the laundry and household. The house always smells fresh, natural and clean. In the baths we provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste. Brands currently featured are Dr. Bronners or Trader Joe's.The Lodge is recognized by Washington State as a Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary. Nature lovers will enjoy seeing the birds that flock to our feeders and baths and basking in their soothing song.If it is respite you are seeking, you've come to the right place. Put your ambitions aside and head for one of the several Pawleys Island rope hammocks hanging beneath the Western Red Cedars. Nothing spells relief like sinking into the quilt lined hammock and being lulled into a deep and restful sleep unlike anything you've ever experienced.Book any 2 nights between Sunday and Thursday and get the 3rd night free. Our way of appreciating your midweek business. :) ... more   less
