Impressive venue, with a sports bar, restaurant and clearly a number of function rooms for events and shows. Went for a quick dinner as a family of 6, everyone had a nice meal, good serves. Kids were happy with theirs and we were able to ask for colouring in for them to keep them entertained. Would visit again when looking for a pub style meal.
Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.…
Never pressume that giong out on Monday night you will get good service and a great meal Definitely not here 40 mins wait on rare steak which is okay if its busy but most annoying is when tables ordered after you and you are still waiting for 30 mins after they received their meals.who knows how much longer we would of waited if we hadn't voiced our dissatisfaction with the wait time for meals The most disappointing fact was the steak was of poor quality And certainly wasn't worth the wait or cost 3 meals all of poor quality And certainly overpriced for what they were And if you got to the bottom they weren't busy
Had to get accommodation for 3 people very quickly and was recommended Arkaba by the caravan park who mucked our booking up. Lovely room for people at such short notice. Went to the venue attached for tea that night and the meal was also delicious and yummy for the price. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Excellent room. Clean, good bed good shower. I’ve gotta keep writing because TA insists 200 characters and this gives me the pips. I’d contribute so much more other than for this rubbish. I’ve said everything I wanted to say and I’m just at 200
Definitely worth a visit, it's a restaurant, hotel, sports bar. Centrally located, rooms nice and clean. Food average, a bit pricey for how much you get. Salmon was overcooked and dry, a shame considering the price the puree tasty but almost non existent, would recommend sides. Cocktails were lovely and a bargain at $10 during cocktail hour. Drink Service was a bit slow and breakfast hot drinks forgotten, food came out reasonably quickly. Staff friendly.
I am honest & report how I find but we were amazed from the day we booked (ALWAYS BOOK WITH THE HOTEL DIRECT) our accommodation right through to checkout on the brilliant attitude the staff have. I don't do Lifts so have to research every Hotel I go to for stair access but that was not a problem here. Staff have smiles on their faces (which is rare in most Hotels), couldn't do enough for us & I have to compliment the Housekeeping girls too (as they're have the hardest job in the Hotel) but the attitude was brilliant. We weren't happy with room 211 (disabled which no idea why we were placed into there) but after 1st night moved us to 212 & I have never ever seen so many switches & buttons in a Hotel room ever & even the TV & the Heating all worked off a corded board by the bed which made things difficult to have to get up & down to switch channels or turn a light on/off or whatever. That was most difficult. Bickies & availability for cuppa in cupboard & fridge (no freezer door) which I just don't know why Hotels insist on fridges being hidden behind an extra cupboard door. I couldn't believe the heat that was fuming out of that cupboard all because obviously the fridge couldn't breathe. So we placed a magazine to hold the wooden cupboard door ajar so fridge could breathe. Now having been in the Hotel industry myself, I found the Arkabar brilliant. Special mention to Lucy & Amy in Restaurant for dinner/B'fast, Sharon & Sylvia in H'keeping & golly gosh where do I stop.…
I stayed here with my father. The room was clean and well-equipped, with 2 queen-sized beds. It had all the essentials ... as well as a good view. Probably the only real downer was that you had limited control over the air conditioning, . The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
I don't think I've ever experienced hotel accommodation that would stop me ever returning before, but this one did. I just wanted to watch 15mins tele before bed. They have a contraption that controls TV, lights and aircon. Nightmare. They show a picture on the bedside table of a TV remote control. It doesn't exist. You have to go to the box thingthat'scabled into the bedside table. 2 calls to reception. Eventually discovered the TV was off, but the buttons on the box don't push easily. Aircon I had to turn off as it wouldn't let me adjust the freeze. And this wasn't just me - my colleague had the same view - the worst ever technology to make simple things difficult. On the plus side, had a steak at the restaurant. It was great 10/10. Please hotel. Accept you made a mistake. Get rid of the box.…
Arrived after a long drive to a problem with our booking. Staff were very responsive and dealt with the issue exceptionally well. We were very impressed with the comfortable, well appointed room with super comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean with good hot strong shower. We stayed on the 4th floor with a nice view. Enjoyed the bar, dinner and breakfast. All reasonably priced and delicious. Overall a great choice for our stay on the way to Vic.
