Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

My last minute choice of Axton Road B&B was a serendipitous decision. The utter peace and quiet were just what the doctor ordered. Barb and Sandy were lovely......kind and generous. I loved the goats, and chickens were arriving as I left. I've already recommended this charming retreat to several people who I'm sure would love it as much as I did. Ten out of ten!

We enjoyed the beautiful home clean, well built with so much ambiance! Slept really well with comfortable bed, nice sheets, a nice touch! We enjoyed the fresh blackberries, beautiful trails. Bellingham is a great stop and we were happy we had 2 days to rest from the traffic of Seattle! Nice restaurants in town excellent food and good value during happy hours! Sharing the bathroom was not a problem. Barb prepared delicious healthy breakfasts with fresh fruit and egg dishes, several including vegetables and fruits from her own garden! Enjoyed conversation with Sandy and Barb, such nice people to know!

We both loved the goats, chickens, sweet old dog Truffle. Very comfortable room, bathroom, and common spaces. Tasty breakfast. Engaging host. Good location only minutes from I-5. Amazing library of books.

Barbara and Sandy are gracious and fun hosts. We shared many stories and had a wonderful time on our stay. The rooms, home, property all are quiet, comfortable and very enjoyable. You can relax in the atrium library space but we opted to hang out with and chat with our hosts in their spacious kitchen :-) Enjoyed touring the gardns and paths around the property. This whole Ferndale area is an idyllic paradise. I wish I could live here.

Arrived late last night on glamping trip and were warmly welcomed by Barbara and Sandy to their beautiful and unique, home. This was a comfortable, great place to unwind after a few days on the road and a treat even if you are not on the road! They have 20 acres and have created a little slice of heaven considering every detail to make ones stay as pleasant as possible (loved the magnifying mirror, hated the reflected image after camping. lol) breakfast was good including homemade treats such as Cherry crumble straight out of the garden... Definately market fresh. Both Barbara and Sandy were a delight .This is a definate gem and would not hesitate to stay again!

We've stayed at many B&B's throughout the U.S., and this ranks right up with the best. The house is lovely and modern, warm and inviting. Barb and Sandy are two hard workers and intelligent progressive thinkers, and you'll enjoy discussions with them on so many subjects. You'll want to wander around the gardens and the grounds, feed the goats, pick blueberries in the summer, find a nice spot to sit and read, and just relax and enjoy the ambience. Breakfasts are one of the many highlights here, and the beds are super comfortable.

My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend, to celebrate our 4 year anniversary; we had a wonderful time. Barb and Sandy are very warm, gracious hosts, and made us feel very much at home during our two-day stay with them. Breakfast was delicious! The house is beautiful, and the common areas very roomy. It feels like it could have been purpose-built to be a B&B (though it actually wasn't). The large property has a couple of nice walking trails on it, and goats and chickens for you to make friends with if you're so inclined. Factor in the very reasonable prices, and I have to say that I highly recommend Axton Road B&B.

My wife and I stayed at the Axton Road B&B and our experience was really good. Sandy and Barb are a lovely couple, both are very inspiring people. They clearly love what they do and it shows in everything they do, from the properties, the grounds, the gardens, the main house, Barb's cooking, Sandy's energy efficiency designs from Solar, microturbine, etc. We would highly recommend this Bead & Breakfast as truly a place where you feel at home and the hospitality of Sandy and Barb is really good. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed here on our recent trip to wonderful Bellingham. We loved this place! We ate blueberries from the garden and cherries from the trees. We saw many cute baby goats that loved to be fed peanuts. The flowers were blooming and this place was like a little slice of heaven. It's only about 20 min from downtown and we really enjoyed being outside of town a bit. We were in room 2 and it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great - fresh eggs from the chickens on site. The owners were gone on vacation, but they left a very nice woman in charge and she took great care of us all. My husband and I would have liked to stay at this place for much longer, so hopefully we'll have a chance to go back again.

We very much enjoyed the hospitality of Barb and Sandy. The rooms are quite and the breakfast's are unbelievably good, and as most of the Barb's cooking seems to come from their own gardens they are very healthy. Do not miss her home made granola. It mentions that you share a bathroom, but there are 2 bathrooms for 3 rooms so chances are you will not even have to share the bathrooms as was the case for us. Nice clean rooms, good conversation and incredible food. (You won't be needing lunch after one of Barb's breakfasts.)
