So sad to see such a run down business in a gorgeous area of the country. I have fond memories of this place from back in the mid 70's, it was a Holiday Inn, when my parents took us while on vacation...beautiful views, great pool and there had been a putt-putt golf course there as well! Now I see it...

Visited it in November 2015. We used to live in Staunton, VA back in the late 60's and early 70's when the hotel was a popular Holiday Inn with a wonderful restaurant and a beautiful view. The only thing left is the view. The hotel is as close as condemned as it can be yet there are one or two...

We took a motorcycle trip down the Skyline Drive several years ago and "found" this place at the end of the ride. We had ground floor rooms which were typical hotel rooms - nothing special. Our room opened out onto the pool deck and we took advantage of the pool since it had been a very hot day. Just sitting...

I have never stayed at the Inn at Afton, but I live in Waynesboro, which is located in the valley just below the Inn. This place is an eye sore. I have no idea why it hasn't been bulldozed yet. No one in their right mind would stay there. Not even for free! It is that bad. Yet it is...

Did not stay at this hotel but I have to say that the view from the parking lot and the parking lot below (Tourism office) is spectacular. We first tried to catch a look on a cloudy day, but everything was foggy with no visibility. Wait for a clear day and head up there to watch the sun rise!

There are no words and if I listed everything it wouldn't fit in this box. I always ask to see my room before I check in and all I can say is that I simply do not understand why the local health department has not condemned this disgusting place. I returned the key and ran for my life.

I stayed all of two hours here and I can tell you, never waste your money here you are better off sleeping in a field during a thunderstorm. I should have known as soon as I saw one of the rooms was missing.. Then I got my key to my room and I didn't work they then told me to...

I have a hard time believing that this place is even still open for business! We made an emergency pit stop here when my son had to go to the bathroom as we traveling along I-64. The sign in the window was flashing "Open", so I assumed all was well. Upon first walking into the building, I was overcome by...

Over 10 years ago the Afton Inn was a top notch Inn with great banquet facilities, comfortable and well cared for rooms and an incredible view. All that remains now is the view. The rooms are run down, the plumbing works sometimes, the dirt is everywhere, and the temperatures are kept cold because they can't afford the utility bill. It...
