I wrote a separate review of our outstanding dinner at the end: one of the most memorable meals of our lives, and a great way to celebrate my partner's birthday. We also stayed at the main house of the Inn for the night, and for the most part we greatly enjoyed the attention, the additional treats (tea, breakfast) and even...

Thank you for writing about your stay commenting on the service. We apologize that there was a miscommunication and oversight regarding the beds for your sons. This is an important detail and I regret that it was missed.

This was our second trip to the Inn at Little Washington and it was once again perfect. They have a great staff. What I like is that they can be the best without being pretentious. Dinner was fabulous. I especially liked the lamb carpaccio with the Caesar ice-cream. The sommelier selected a Chambolle-Musigny that paired perfectly with everything. Being innkeepers...

From the moment we pulled up, it was as if we were whisked into a completely different world. From the staff to the decor to the...

Went to the Inn to celebrate my wife's birthday, and they did not disappoint her high expectations that were set. We dined, spent the night, and enjoyed brunch and tea the next day. Location: The Inn is about an hour and a half drive from Washington DC, set in the picturesque Virginia rolling hills countryside near the foot of the...

My husband and I just got back from an overnight stay. It was our first time at the Inn, but I know that we will be back. I loved the peacefullness of the area. Everything was so quiet it was serene. The Inn itself was just lovely. Guests are invited to explore every nook and cranny of the beautiful property....

We were there for an overnight stay while enjoying the fall foliage in the region which included stays in other hotels and the Inn knocked everybody else out of the park. We arrived for check-in and were immediately treated to a champagne cocktail and a very warm welcome by the GM and then given a short tour and shown to...

We stayed and had dinner at the Inn At Little Washington this past weekend. It was one of the most amazing experiences we've ever had. I want to start by saying that anyone who rates this Inn/restaurant as average, let alone terrible, couldn't have been at the same place. Those ratings are just preposterous. So, now for the review --...

If you believe that perfection is unattainable, than I suggest a stay at the Inn at Little Washington, complete with dinner, of course. The Inn is comprised of a small and intimate main building accompanied by a number of smaller houses that have been converted to accommodate guests. This was our 3rd visit to the Inn over about a 10 year period. The first two experiences were so wonderful, remarkable really, that we were sure the third wouldn't compare - how could it? Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Washington, Virginia, The Inn at Little Washington is the only Double Forbes Five Star, Double AAA Five Diamond property in the Washington metro area. The Inn's eighteen bedrooms and suites are sumptuous hideaways created by Joyce Evans, a London stage and set designer, for whom The Inn has become a life's work. Many of the furnishings were purchased in England, numbered and shipped to Virginia to be assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Inn offers a range of accommodations from well-appointed rooms to luxurious, two story suites many with balconies and garden views. The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy - a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below. Chef/Proprietor Patrick O'Connell's creations arrive as if served by invisible hands, course after course more dazzling than the last. From the award-winning 14,000 bottle wine cellar, which includes the finest offerings from Bordeaux, Burgundy, California and Virginia, the Sommelier plays matchmaker between you, your dinner and the wine. ... more   less
