The room was Okay. Nothing spectacular. While the bed was comfortable (especially after a 9 hour drive), the charging ports next to the beds didn't work, the bed itself wasn't very well made and the room is set up in such a fashion that the TV is next to the bed. This is fine if you're on the side closer to the TV but if someone else is in the bed too they have to roll on their side to look over someone to see it. The big problem with this hotel was that they double charged my Credit Card, thus considerably reducing my availability until the situation got resolved which didn't happen until our vacation was over. While the manager did try to talk to the credit card company to try to get it corrected nothing could be done and it became even more irritating when he offered my wife and I complimentary pantry goods (candy, etc) to try to make up for it. There is no pool. Because of Covid, the housekeeping only comes in once every 3 days. There is a Courtyard by Marriott in Dunn Loring that we've stayed at several times just a 5 -10 minute trip down the road. We stayed at this Courtyard ONLY because we were getting a better rate but you get what you pay for. Next time we'll either go back to Dunn Loring OR maybe try the Doubletree hotel right next door to this one. There are a lot of alternatives to this hotel in the area and we'll probably seek them out before coming back to this one. This hotel needs LOTS of work.

I'm not sure why this hotel has poor recent reviews. We thought it was fine. It was clean and the beds were comfy. Shower had excellent water pressure though the bathroom could use updating. The room itself was fine. We couldn't hear noice from next door or the hallway. Fridge in room though, for some reason, it was unplugged when we got there. Also, there were no bars of soap - we had to use shower gel because they told us there was a hotel soap shortage. I'm not sure how true that is since I have stayed in other hotels 2x in the last month and got plenty of soap there. The front desk staff was friendly. Parking is $10/night and there seemed to be plenty of it. The hotel is within walking distance of a Metro station. We were there for some concerts at Wolf Trap and this was a convenient place to stay as well as extremely affordable.

We stayed in room 506 overnight to attend a concert at Wolf Trap, trusting in the Marriott name that our stay would be a good one. We noticed that the hotel was very old and needed updating. There was a strong musty smell, that we now believe was mold (which I am allergic to) because throughout the night I became more ill. We left asap the next morning. We arrived healthy and left sick.

The staff at this hotel was very kind. The rooms were clean and nice. The hallways were super dark which I didn’t like. The rooms seem like they got updated within the past few years but the bathrooms definitely need to be updated still. The alarm clock was extremely bright and kept me up most of the night. I didn’t realize that I could dim it until the next morning. The pillows are horrible, I suggest bringing your own unless you want to sink into the pillow all night. But I would give it another try if we were ever in the area again.
