My husband and I spent 2 wonderful days/night at The Lafayette Inn & Restaurant, indulging in a 10 course tasting and wine paring dinner & and since we couldn't resist Alan's cooking skills, another delicious dinner the next day. We enjoyed every minute, and are impressed by the friendliness of the owners and staff! With plenty of things to do...

We were spending two days hiking in Shenandoah National Park and decided to stay here for the night. It is close to the Swift Run Gap entrance to the park. The building has been an Inn for most of its 170 year history and the difficulty of maintaining such a property shows on the outside. But the rooms and restaurant...

My husband and I were looking for a lunch spot after leaving the Shenandoah National Park so I googled nearby restaurants. The Lafayette Inn popped up. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did!! It was a Sunday afternoon around 2:00 ish. Much to our delight we had just missed the Sunday...

If you like gourmet hamburgers, The Lafayette Inn probably has one to enthrall you. The wide selection features almost every imaginable combination - served with Brie, Tomato and Sour Cream, or the Normandy Burger with herbed cheese (my choice) or any of the regional flavors one might encounter on a trip around the US. You can choose an alternative of...

Unique stay at the 1840s hotel. What is most interesting about this building is that it is about 80% original. The staff is very friendly. The room is large with a sitting area. The restaurant is excellent and the chef is very friendly and interacts with the patrons. This is a unique place to stay and dine.

We were welcomed with a beautifully landscaped archway and entrance and then escorted to our room by a polite gentleman carrying a small tray of champagne and chocolates. I was impressed. However, when he opened the door to our room, I felt as if I stepped back 25 years. The room was clean but had not been updated in a...

Seeking an overnight break from our drive along the Skyline drive & Shanandoah Valley, we picked this place, as it was circa 20 miles off the Skyline Drive along Hwy 33, and looked fun, interesting and not at all like the mega-chain bed-factories. Built in 1840 in a Federalist style with three levels, sweeping colonnaded porches, and with a frame...

Excellent service, food, wine, and accommodations. Me and my three friends did the ten course dinner with wine pairing. Our only complaint was that we couldn't eat all of the food. Each dish that came out was better than the last. Every wine was perfectly paired. We also spent the night in the Tyler suite. The rooms were clean and...
