Lovely private carriage house set on its own by the river, with friendly helpful inn keepers when you need them. Perfect place for a picnic dinner on the deck, with the river's music, or if it rains, as it did for us in torrents, you can just move inside for a cozy picnic, with the rain pattering on the roof.... My fiance and I spent a lovely ~24 hours at Sharp Rock Vineyards B&B in late September, after a travel fiasco gone wrong allowed us to contact Sharp Rock Vineyards to salvage our -1 year anniversary trip. I do believe it was fate. After searching Virginia wine country bed and breakfasts, I came across Sharp Rock, the reviews were of... More

We celebrated our 25th anniversary and had a great time! Everyone was so friendly and the accommodations were the perfect getaway from our busy lives. So nice to escape and "unplug". Couldn't be more convenient to Old Rag. Phew! What an accomplishment - followed by a tasting and bottle of excellent wine. Highly recommend. We will be back!

We're at Sharp Rock for our annual trip to climb Old Rag and visit with Jimm and Kathy. We've been here many years, and we figure when we're too old to get over the hill, we're over the hill! What a great place this is. We always stay in the Cottage (which easily sleeps two couples), the original 18th century... More

We were so happy to find this charming, quiet, unspoiled bed and breakfast/vineyard for the base of our mother-daughter weekend. The location is beautiful, the wine was delicious and it made for a perfect starting point for our hike up to the top of Old Rag Mountain. Jimm and Kathy are terrific and attentive hosts who clearly live and breathe... More

My family all got together this past weekend to celebrate my father's 60th birthday with the plan to hike Old Rag and spend the night at Sharp Rock Vineyard's B&B Cottage. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking. We stayed in the 2-bedroom cottage and we loved the rustic atmosphere - was extremely charming and... More

This was an amazing weekend with excellent accommodations and proximity to a couple of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. Jim and Kathy (and their 2 beautiful dogs and cat) are simply wonderful. We loved the wine as well. We have already been recommending this place to our friends. We got so lucky getting the Carriage House at the... More

I took the opportunity of my wife's attendance at a wedding in Los Vegas to carve out some time for myself at a place that would be at the opposite end of the noise/stimulation/hyper-luxury spectrum. I found it at the Sharp Rock Vineyard B&B--so quiet and peaceful, so close to nature, so soothing and healing. The Carriage House, where I stayed... More

We stayed in the two-bedroom 1790 cottage. We loved the old-style of the cottage - it really does take you back in time. It was so quiet and peaceful. The deck feels very private as it is on the opposite side from the winery. We sat outside for all of our meals. The kitchen has all of the modern amenities... More

A group of us stopped here first on a vineyard tour. The wines were great. Really enjoyed the oak Chardonnay. The staff was friendly & informative. We ended up staying for a lot longer than we thought we would. It was nice to sit outside, very peaceful!

“We liked the 1790 Cottage best as it has a full kitchen and is tucked away more than the Carriage House. The Carriage House is very nice, and more modern if you like that, but has a limited kitchen. I would stay in either, but the Cottage is my favorite.”
