It was late,we needed a place to stay. This was easy to find. Rooms had an outside entrance. When we arrived in our room it was hot. My husband checked and there was no air coming from the vents so he requested that we get another room. The second wasn't much better. There were also holes in the curtains, enough to see daylight the next morning. It served its purpose, we had a place to sleep but I don't think we would stay here again. But, there were workers at the hotel so they were possibly working on the a/c issues. We could have just caught them at a bad time.

All in all not a bad hotel, nice appliances. The one big problem is that there was only a sheet and blanket, no comforter and it was snowing outside. Add to that that when looked closely at the blanket it was clear that this is one of those hotels that never feels the blankets need washed, just the sheets. In our room, the blankets NEED washed, we found lots of little "special" (you can guess what I mean) hairs on top of the blanket.
If they did regular thorough cleaning of all bedding the motels would be a fine place to stay.

My 9yr old son and I stayed here last week for an overnighter after spending the day at Kings Dominion Amusement Park (very fun btw). We checked in at around 6 pm and Lakeisha, the front desk clerk, was pleasant, friendly and got us checked in quickly. The exterior of the hotel was clean enough and the surrounding area was OK, the airport is directly across the street (didn't really hear plane noise tho) and there are plenty of restaurants up and down the street. We had a room on the second floor, pool side. The pool looked pretty clean, but we did not use it. I must say, I have never had such a small hotel room before. Just enough room for 2 full beds, a built in desk and not much else. Bathroom was tiny too. No tub, only a shower stall, toilet and sink. The room itself was clean (no carpets,just laminate flooring) and the beds pretty comfy. My only complaints were that the towels were very rough and the shower stall wasn't as clean as I would have liked it. There was still hair along the bottom edges of the stall. Wasn't a big deal, just used a wad of toilet paper and wiped it up. All in all, the room was sufficient for what I needed, a place to sleep after a long day at the amusement park. If you want luxury, look elsewhere. If you want a comfortable, cheap place to sleep, you can't beat this place for the price.

All I needed was a clean comfortable bed, WiFi, shower and the ability to make coffee in the morning. This Motel 6 ticked all the boxes. The staff that I spoke to during my 7 or so day stay were great, the room was clean with no trace of wildlife of any sort in there. Bed was comfortable, and the area was quiet enough for me to get a decent sleep. I've seen some terrible reviews of this motel, but I'm glad to say that none of the complaints from those applied to my visit! I'd be happy to stay here again! :D

We stayed here one night and that was enough for anyone. The toilet rocked back and forth from the base. And the roaches were so bad, went to the bathroom at night and they were running everywhere when i switched the light on, nothing like running around the bathroom at night killing roaches so they didn't get into our luggage/bags. As we were getting ready to leave the hotel more roaches were running across the desk, the place is infested so bad. Told front desk guy when we checked out, he wasn't even fazed about the roaches. Said he would tell the manager to contact us, still nothing and i have called twice and i guess they work when they want cause they aren't ever there or they just avoid phone calls. THIS WAS ROOM 149....

Don't stay here!! Nasty & dirty, cigarette butts litter the walkways, groups of young men lurking around late at nite, women coming and going from one room at all hours, police cruising the parking lot, loud music from guys sitting in their vehicles outside your room, cigarette burns on the mattress, apparent drug deals/shady dealings, stinky rooms, dirty bathroom, old tv's with poor reception, no coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. Shall I go on?
For $50 a nite, it would be safer to sleep in your car! This is the WORST Motel 6 ever and to top it off, I expect the "canned manager's response" to this negative review.
Clearly, with all these horrible reviews, Motel 6 needs to upgrade THIS location as other Motel 6's are great, NOT this one.
PS- this does not even deserve one star, but I had to enter something. It deserves ZERO stars.

Let me say at the onset that I wrote to the VP of Operations. I had never stayed in a filtier hotel in my life. Hairs, pubic hairs, etc. in the filthy shower. Dead coakroaches on the floor. The sheets were so smelly I had to get my own out of the car. The a/c barely worked and it was over 90 degrees outside. In general the room was filthy.
Do yourself a huge favor and stay somewhere else when in Richmond. This is NOT typical of Motel 6, btw. Generally they are clean and a good value for the money. NOT THIS ONE however.

The motel has free parking (including a large number of handicapped spaces). The check in was quick and friendly and inside the lobby in spite of my 1:00 a.m. arrival.The rooms have outside entries. The grounds and room were a bit run down but functional and well laid out. I got a good night's sleep and received the wake up call that I requested. The check out went smoothly and quickly.

Advice DO NOT stay at the Richmond VA Airport location. I am forced to stay at this bug infested nasty motel by my company. This morning wake up to crime tape around the motel and Police all over because there was two people shot and one died. Cleaning staff given little supplies to clean rooms so showers covered in soap scum and water scale along with peeling paint on shower pan from cheap repair, have cheap laminate floors that are coming up and can't be cleaned so will have black socks or feet that are dirty, old TV with limited channels if they work, bedding that is stained and list goes on . Why is this location so deperate for money that they let any low life live there and and don't care about there guests that are traveling. Kept up all night by drug dealers and hookers knocking on doors 24 x 7. Motel has pit bulls and numerous other dogs living in room's and even has school bus pull up in front. I thought this was a motel for travelers and not goverment housing. Another small issue if want a good shower forget it there is no water pressure a kinked garden house would work better. So if plan stay to Richmond avoid this motel if you want a peacefull night sleep. I stay here 3 nights a week so this review is not based on one visit it is over a 4 month period.

I pulled up with the idea that I was checking in when 5 cars of police pulled up first. I walked in to a young lady crying in the lobby and police everywhere. I ask the Front Desk Clerk was everything ok to check In do I have anything to worry about. The Manager replied to me with the question, "Do you want to be murdered?" I said no and asked what was she talking about. She says that I should be happy that the police are there. The front desk clerk adds the fact that the police stays there all the time to monitor the ground!!!! RED FLAG you think??? Take in mind that this place is right across the street from Richmond Airport!!! Sketchy thugs walking all around and a manager that can't control the environment. Stay at your own risk.
