The stay was nice, the room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. However the shower seemed to cycle from hot to cold water., especially in the morning.

For us, one of the disadvantages was that there were no outlets near the bed. The room had 2 USB ports on the desk and 2 on the micro-fridge cabinet, which we didn't notice at first as It wasn't a usual place to look. But, with 2 people each having a phone, laptop and smart watch, it was difficult getting work done and having everything fully charged overnight.

I can generally sit on the bed and work, however, because i needed to charge my laptop while I worked, I wasn't able to work for very long.

Breakfast was the average fare, with bagels, English muffins, toast, waffles,, pre-packaged egg sandwiches, home made blueberry muffins etc.

The first norming the cream cheese for the bagels was warm, as if it had been sitting out all night, which made it taste funny. The next morning was the same, so I had a blueberry muffin instead, which was very good.

The highlight was one of the desk associates. a young lady named India, I think that was her name. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. She even offered to make fresh coffee when we got in late one evening ... such a pleasant and unexpected surprise.. We also saw her one of the mornings and she was just as friendly. I hope management recognizes what a valuable employee she is.

Having said all that, with employees as helpful as India, I would stay there again. She was the highlight of the stay, for us. If the outlet situation hadn't made it difficult to work, it would have been a perfect stay. If that isn't an issue for you, then I would highly recommend that you give this Fairfield Inn a try..

I had a nice stay before an early flight. The hotel seemed fairly new. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. This property is minutes away from the airport by shuttle and the shuttle driver was exceptionally friendly and professional. When I checked in I asked about coffee for the next morning and was told there would be coffee available beginning at 4:00 am. There was coffee in my room, but no cups and rather than looking for a cup I thought I would get a coffee in the lobby on my way out at 5:00. There wasn’t any and the breakfast workers told me they never start making it before 5:00. For me the difference between very good and excellent was the miscommunication between workers on when coffee was available and the failure of housekeeping to leave a cup with the coffee maker in my room.

Nice hotel and fall room beautiful and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh, and there was also a large selection, so that everyone could find what they like best. The transfer was from the airport which was very convenient. although we thought we would have to get to the hotel on our own.

Noise coming through the wall from a data room kept me up all night. GM refused to change my room even though they have 2 available, because they would rather save the room to get full price instead of taking care of the customer. The iron was also dirty and stained my shirt. Great way to treat your gold elite members.

Stayed for three days for a baseball tournament. During our third day, at 2:30 PM, the water was shut off due to a broken pipe. The non-plumber maintenance staff and the front desk assured us that the water would only be off for thirty minutes. After two hours, we were told again that repair was moments away. At 6:30PM they offered to make arrangements for us at a sister hotel, which they never followed through on as the they were overwhelmed rebooking incoming guests, who weren't informed of the situation and checking out almost all the other guests who chose to leave. In addition, we were told as a group that we would be credited for the night. Facing a 7 hr drive and it now being 8PM, we decided to stay. What wasn't made clear was that the credit was only for those who checked out. Nothing was offered at checkout, after asking for those who stayed. A complaint to Bonvoy was registered and we never heard from them. A month has gone by. Today, I found out that I was credited $20 for my inconvenience of no showers, no flushing toilet, no access to washer dryer for uniforms, no water to brush teeth etc. Emily, the manager, managed to hide during morning checkouts, with front desk claiming she was going to handle the credits later. I understand that emergencies happen but the lies about the time for the repair, poor communication and inability to make arrangements for reasonable compensation is unconscionable.

This is generally my go to hotel when I am in town, but I’ve been super disappointed my last few visits. This visit was not acceptable and I probably won’t be back. Anytime I visit a Marriott, I am given complimentary waters upon arrival and this only happened during my very first visit in April at this hotel. The first room that I was given was 317. It was nasty. There were blood stains on the wall and the shower was dirty and nasty at the bottom. The cracks and crevices around the shower were orange(rusty). For this to be a new hotel, it baffles me how lazy the housekeeping staff is. The lady at the front desk was nice enough to transfer me to room 217 but there was tons of trash in the hallway and the floor smelled like cigarettes. There was no blood on the walls but again the corners of the shower were dirty. This is disgusting to look at, and if I’m paying my money I want to be comfortable in my selection. By the time I got back to the room to lay down, there were black strands of hair in the Sheets. It was too late to even change tons again so I laid on top of the covers fully dressed.

Let’s not forget the bedside table closest to the window that had dried up food on top. Disgusting

This was the worst experience I’ve had in life and won’t be returning.

Your bedding smells like it was just washed in water with no detergent and to be honest, it’s dingy. The bathrooms are horrible with low water pressure in the sink I can barely get enough water to brush my teeth.

For this to be a new hotel, your housekeeping crew is sending it downhill.

Room was fine. The room below me had loud music and tv late night and early morning. I asked the front desk multiple times to take care of it and yet all morning 630am onward it was very loud.

Lesson learned. This is a typical low budget hotel. You get what you pay for and sorry I can’t recommend for someone wanting a quiet place to rest.

Not saying it’s right or wrong, but just saying that on entering to check in, the lobby was full of two large groups, 20+ people in each group, none were masked or distanced. The desk person herself had her nose completely uncovered. The rooms are the most basic, low standard furnishings available, with prison-quality bathrooms and noisy AC. Worst Marriott I’ve been to in a long time, and I’m a Bonvoy titanium member. We’ve traveled a fair bit since Covid happened, and the safety standards in this hotel were frankly unsafe. Having just come from the UVA med center Marriott (Draftsman Charlottesville) it was like a different planet. Proceed with caution!

Thank you so much for staying with us here in Sandston. Our social distancing posters, floor mats, and screens are displayed for guests to follow. Groups, and all guests, entering and gathering in the lobby should also be in face masks,as it is required by Marriott and posted at all entry/exit doors. We also have free disposable masks available. We also require all of our staff to wear masks properly and to take their temperatures daily. Sorry your experience was not a positive one. I have already forwarded your response to the appropriate Manager to address within that department. Maintenance will also being checking the AC. Again, thank you so much for your comments. I will definitely be reexamining our group procedures, as we move forward.

Spent three nights on a business trip at this hotel. The location close to the airport tends to a lot of one night guests that get up pretty early for flights. The hotel seemed to have ample staff, both at the counter and housekeeping. Even though I was told daily service would not happen, they did restock towels every day. All in all, it was fine. Thumbs up for me

Good hotel and good breakfast. I initially was annoyed as we picked this hotel solely because of the shuttle from the airport, yet on the day of arrival they told us it would run because of COVID during the exact hours of our arrival. Later on, however, they did reimburse us for the Uber ride that we had to take instead, without any questions asked. Still subtracting 1 star because of a very odd email we received from a gmail address demanding that we provide other payment details on the day of check-in, threatening to take away the reservation. We were in the air already anyway so we could respond, but very strange practice.
