My husband and I stated a Saturday night here to attend our friends birthday party. The room appeared comfortable and we began to get dressed for the event. Much to our dismay there was old urine around the base of the commode and hair in the tub. Obviously, housecleaning had not done a good job that day prior to our arrival. We requested another room but were informed that the hotel was sold out for the evening. As a Gold member, I inquired about an upgrade. They were all booked as well. The room was eventually cleaned. But not in time for us to really freshen up before our party. Upon checkout we mentioned our inconveniences and was told that there was nothing that the desk clerk was authorized to do but that we could call the Manager on Monday. I called the manager and he was extremely solicitous and apologetic. He offered to comp half the room (as it was extremely pricey). He also promised points for our inconveniences. He mentioned that it might take 7 to 10 days before the credit appeared on my credit card. I was satisfied with the arrangement. The next day, the points appeared on my account. However, as of this date over 90 days later the credit hasn't appeared on my credit card. No returned calls. I will not stay at this property again. Nor will I recommend it to my friends and relatives who frequent the area.

We didn't stay at the HGI Sandston, sadly, stayed at the Doubletree in the same location. The restaurant @ Doubletree was under renovation, and kitchen staff was not able to cook us a meal. We walked over the HGI and had dinner. Our waitress was very accomating, food was good. The chef even came out to talk to us. We also had breakfast here. Food was good. We should have stayed here instead of the Doubletree.

When I made reservation online, I was given a $138 rate for Thur night and $125 for Friday night. However after I paid, the confirmation after payment showed a $152 rate for Thursday night. Friday’s rate was still $125. I immediately emailed support from the website about the issue, please see my email thread below.
When I checked into Hilton Garden Inn RICHMOND Airport, I explained my dilemma of price discrepancy for Thursday night 1/9 to the front desk clerk Russ.
Russ spoke to manager and offered a $139 rate for which I agreed. It was understood by me that this was only for the one day we discussed
I checked out today only to see that BOTH nights were changed to $139. I was very clear on check in that the issue was for Thursday night only. I spoke to Russ about this and Russ’ comment was that his understanding was for both nights. Why would I want a rate increase for Friday? Russ said he cannot change it and will have to escalate to his manager Ben English on Monday.
I just want the rates that was quoted me when I made the reservation online. Please assist in this matter. Thank you

Our room wasn’t cleaned satisfactory, the curtains were broken, they wouldn’t close all the way and stay closed, the carpet felt like sand was all through it and the housekeepers missed trash from previous stays because there was trash underneath the sink and underneath the trash can. The worst customer service I’ve ever received when staying at a Hilton Hotel, there was no information about the amenities that were in the hotel, nor about the events that were in the area and there was no mention of the pool, if they even had one. Also, the one front desk lady was not a friendly person and kind of rude. They don’t accept cash, which is ridiculous in my opinion because it pays just as much as cards do. There was no hot breakfast, overpriced food and the best service We received was from Cheri, the bartender in the lobby!

We booked this hotel well in advance of the holiday weekend. We had a reservation!! When we arrive at 3:23 pm we are told we do not have a room and were given a room at the Hampton Inn across the street. The clerk at the Garden Inn desk said they were overbooked by 20 and had been since Friday. We arrived on Sunday afternoon. There was no phone call to notify us and give us other options as to where we would like to stay. The front desk staff was rude and oblivious. We have been on the fence about Hilton and its generally poor service and quality. This experience has solidified our decision. We will not be returning to a Hilton property.

Do not stay at this hotel. Badly in need of a facelift. Common areas dirty. Got to room and sliding glass doors to closet were broken. Went to have breakfast and no wait staff showed up so no breakfast! Host at counter only offered a flippant "Sorry". Restaurant not open that evening due to wait staff shortage again. Two other Hilton hotels next door and no arrangements made with them to service guests. Even clocks in common areas not working as no one had bothered to change the batteries. Would never stay here again

Stayed Labor Day weekend for a wedding held off site. Room was huge! Separate sitting area with couch and a few chairs. Wet bar area with microwave and fridge. King size bed. Parking was close. The night before the wedding several of us gathered in the lobby to catch up. Front desk people allowed us to stay even though we got a little loud a few times. The night of the wedding every one came back to the bar for drinks. We drank and took over the lobby until after 2am when a fire alarm went out. Had to stand outside for about 30min or so until the fire department cleared the false alarm.

Hotel and room were not clean. Floors and hard surfaces were sticky. No tissues or coffee in room. There was a coffee maker and instant tea. Fan in room very noisy and discovered is was missing cover screws which caused it to vibrate (see photos). Garbage piled up at elevator both days (see photo). Business Center closed (see photo). No cooked breakfast or dinner as restaurant was closed. Told to go to Hampton Inn across the parking lot for breakfast (see photo). Desk Clerk Hannah not friendly or helpful. Acted as if she was doing me a favor by dealing with me. However, Clerks Dee and Ivy were friendly and helpful when contacted. Very bad stay. Will never stay here again.
