This is an older hotel, but it has been so well taken care of and definitely following pandemic sanitizing protocols. We chose the hotel because it was the only hotel that was still offering hotel shuttles to and from the airport during this pandemic. So glad I chose it. They not only took us to the airport at 4:30am, but also picked us up from the airport at 9:30pm the night before to return our rental car. The gentleman who runs the shuttle is so nice and considerate and never made us wait on the ride. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone flying in our out of Richmond Airport. They know what real customer service is. GREAT HOTEL!

I would like to thank Ms.Washington the general manager & her staff for the amazing work they are doing everyday @the Courtyard Hotel . I met with the assistant manager Ms.Crystal, Mr.Bernard, & Mr. Sty yesterday evening when my son & I arrived @the Courtyard hotel & Mr.Gerald & Mr.Harry this morning. They kindly welcomed us; they are so humble, professional, respectful, courteous, compassionate, helpful, hard workers & efficient. Thank you so much for the great restaurant & shuttle services opportunity for customers as Mr.Gerald & Mr.Sty kindly gave us a ride when we needed. We stayed for a night as we had to continue to another state in the U.S. Furthermore, the hotel is very clean, I saw someone spraying & cleaning surfaces immediately after use. The art sculptures makes it very beautiful with diversity inclusion.
They are all very friendly, pleasant caring & made our stay a great experience. Thank you so much for everything they did, we greatly appreciate it!

Nice hotel, 24hr on demand shuttle service to airport. Did not have breakfast as we left before it started. You can book with a rate that included leaving your car at the hotel for 10 days. We were at 13 days but they did not charge extra.

So, recently I walked into the lobby of this property with the intent of booking a room for the night after a long flight. Mind you, I understood that a reservation might be needed in advance. However, most reputable hotels would allow walk-ins, based upon availability. Upon entering, I overheard one of the front desk staff members yelling at another guest about not allowing a small portable fan on property while checking in. Afterwards, I approached the front desk agent, Natalie, for directions to the public restroom prior to booking a room. She immediately asked if I had a reservation and I replied that I was interested in booking a room for the night and just needed to use the restroom. She replied (with an attitude), "No, we are sold out!". I asked, "So, I cannot even use your restroom?" Natalie: "No!" (without any explanation). I have never experienced this at any other hotel properties. Disgusted with her poor attitude, lack of hospitality, and empathy, I simply left the property as Natalie made smart remarks upon my exit. I eventually booked a room at another property with exceedingly friendlier service. Based upon my bad experience, Natalie needs coaching and counseling by hotel management as she does not reflect the quality of hospitality service typically offered by the Marriott brand. Until then, I would highly recommended that if you are browsing around for nearby hotels that you do not waste your money at this particular property.

I am sure that the Courtyard was much nicer when it opened, it certainly is showing it’s wear and tear. If money is not going to be spent on upkeep of the rooms, upgrade the coffee, or towels, or lower the rates.
In addition to the wear, the hotel will not make up the rooms daily which just adds to an experience that makes me wish I had stayed elsewhere.
Do yourself a favor and find a better place to stay.

I was working on a contract and checked into the hotel at 8:00 p.m. expecting to go online and finalize the details. No WiFi. I tried to call the front desk using the house phone and it was dead. I used my cell phone. The nice man at the desk responded with the usual log in solutions except to tell me to make sure my laptop was pulled in. Switch browsers. Reboot. Of course I had tried those before. He sent someone up to investigate. Useless. Eventually another person arrived and he verified that neither my phone nor computer could access their Internet. He stated he would need to reboot the router. In the meantime I drove to another hotel, used their WiFi, and although that worked, I missed the deadline for submission. I probably lost as $10,000 contract because of this failure.

Back at Courtyard they never did get the Internet up and running and quite frankly, no one showed any concern. We had two small kids with us who brought iPads to connect and play games. Nothing. It was a complete disaster of a stay. Did I mention no lotion in the bathroom either?

If they offered a money-back guarantee I would have requested it. On check out the desk clerk simply asked whether we wanted a paper receipt or email receipt. Never did she ask how our stay was and I didn't bother her with our concerns. What was she going to say? We choose an email receipt. I never received that either.

Firstly, I want to sincerely apologize to you for the great inconvenience caused to you. I was at the hotel on Friday at 7:30am. Due to the very high winds, our power flickered more than ten times, creating a short circuit that damaged one of our main routers at the hotel. Our service providers walked my Chief engineer through on how to connect with very slow speed as they overnighted the damaged equipment. Just as much as this act was not planned and is not an excuse, I believe it is fair that you need to know what the issue was with the Internet. My hotel has a 90 % satisfaction on our internet usage scores. Regarding lotion, this is no longer a brand standard requirement, we have these at the Front desk should any guest require some. Once again apologies for this inconvenience.

I requested a top floor room via the Bonvoy app. I received a text that I was accommodated and good to go. When I checked in she said there were no top floor rooms available anymore and I would just have to "deal with being on the bottom floor". Ten minutes later my traveling companion arrived and we started to leave for dinner. He was upset because he requested a bottom floor room and was accommodated via the chat in the Bonvoy app too. But she told him there were no bottom floor rooms and put him on the top floor. We swapped rooms. What a joke.

This room was dirty and uncomfortable. I am used to clean and comfortable Courtyards. I know this is an airport hotel, which can be not as nice, but still. The mattress was just on a mattress frame, which sunk down in the middle. There wasn’t a headboard, only two white (and yellow stained) pad things that sat at the head of the bed. The sheets were all pilled and the comforter was VERY stained yellow. The sheets at least smelled clean. I’m very disappointed that I spent $180 for one night where I only slept for 75 minutes TOTAL because I could hear the people in the next room and I just felt dirty.

Nat3895, I apologize for your experience. The headboard pillows are not a favorite of most and will be replaced with actual headboards in the new renovation package. I apologize that your room was not as clean as you would have liked it. We are normally rated very high in that area and it is unacceptable that you did not get to experience that. First of all, it's not a terrible hotel. Staff is nice, the rooms are nice, and its clean. However, ANY coffee drinker knows the first thing they want upon waking is fresh good coffee. I woke up hungry and wanted my coffee, so when I went down to the lobby looking for where they kept the coffee. The only coffee you can get you have to buy from their bistro. I don't know anyone that wants to stand in line for a dang cup of coffee 2 minutes after they wake. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for a person to serve me. Nothing. I went back to the desk and they said she was in the back and would be available shortly. I continued to wait and became very agitated. So I went behind their counter and was going to serve myself. I could not figure out where to get the coffee from. So then I went into their staff kitchen (twice) to find them so I could have a cup of coffee. I yelled out for anyone and No one was back there! I finally gave up and went back to my room and drank the nasty room coffee and had to go without eating breakfast because you have to buy it and wait for staff that seem to not exist. These bistros getting put into the hotels are to make more money and that's whatever, but you now have an obligation to "serve." And coffee is extremely important you'd better be on your game. Now I feel like when I book I will always avoid places like this because this incident ruined my day. Lastly, their staff smoke cigarettes right outside the door making the entire lower level smell like a bar. Get your COFFEE together people!

698tobyp, I apologize about your experience. I was informed of this incident when I arrived. Unfortunately, we had a staff member get into a car accident on the way to work. The young lady that was working was doing two jobs. When you were calling her in the back, she ran to use the restroom. Back up came shortly after. I stayed at this hotel last year when I was in the area for work, no issues, but checked in this week and it was a nightmare. First room the AC unit was torn apart, second room the AC had frozen over and the floor was wet around it, tub didn't drain. Noisy, rude neighbors just added to the experience. I check in late as I work late nights and just wanted to relax. Checked into a different Marriott hotel the next night - much better, better price.
