We have stayed at the Burwell Place Inn many times while our daughter attended Roanoke College in Salem. Cindy Lou, the Inn Keeper, always welcomes us with open arms and a smile. Nothing is too much trouble and she always makes sure everything is perfect. This past weekend we rented all 4 rooms for our family who were in town...

Often when we travel we stay at a particular brand of hotel, but for weekend trip to Roanoke, we thought we'd try something different -- and we're glad we did! We stayed in nearby Salem & loved the Inn at Burwell Place. It's a beautiful property, & our room was just as beautiful as well comfortable and clean. As noted...

So beautiful, I'm speechless! Excellent hospitality. Everything in this beautiful home is perfect! We loved the homemade muffins. Would love to come back here someday! My review doesn't do this place justice. If I could give ten stars, I would! Thank you!

A simply wonderful old and grand home! We stayed at the Inn at Burwell Place on a motorcycle trip through the state. The hosts could not have been more gracious or the property more beautiful and with quick access to some of the best roads in Virginia. Very, very nice!

We stayed here for three nights as a base to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is located on the edge of town so easy to get out for sight seeing trips but only a 15 mins walk to Salem town centre. Lovely old house, well maintained with all the old character and helped to get into the holiday mode...

We had a comfortable stay at the Inn. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The in room Keurig was a fabulous idea! We also enjoyed the large tea selection. The cold breakfast was as described. The home baked breads were delicious. It was nice to have breakfast on our time schedule. There was ample hot water...

My husband and I spent just one night at the Inn at Burwell Place, but we would love to return for a longer stay. We enjoyed a very comfortable quiet room and a lovely breakfast. The innkeeper was helpful with travel tips for our Crooked Mile exploration and was a gracious hostess. We are so glad we could stay at...

We booked a room for 1 night as we were driving home to MD from NC. We have stayed at many B&B's but this is quite possibly the nicest one we have stayed. Beautifully maintained, super clean, and lovely furnishings. We met the housekeeper Dana, who was super nice. Cannot recommend this B&B enough, we will return!

“Both second floor suites good for older children to room in; suite one with the pullout sofa on sunporch, available seasonally; suite with daybed, also. The queen rooms are still comfortable. Main floor has sizable living room/commons area for family visits if using multiple rooms. Third floor is innkeepers' quarters.”
