Stayed in the Madison for one night as part of a Treatme deal with deluxe suite and dinner for two. Dinner was fantastic. Far too much food actually with all three courses consumed. Starter of salmon bruschetta was best, a tarte tartin for main and desserts of crème brulee and a crumble with icecream. Truly lovely and fantastic local wine...

We found the staff very helpful and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! The sticky date pudding is to die for. We have always preferred restaurants to hotels in terms of food, but this food was great - the equal of any good restaurant.

On arrival we rang the bell as the sign said to do and then stood around for over 5 minutes until someone finally came out of the office and went and got a staff member from the bar. Same thing when we went to dinner, stood in the restaurant waiting to be seated for quite a while. On saying that...

The White Swan is immaculately presented and looks beautiful. However the problem I had was 2 nights of interrupted sleep - every time someone opens or closes a door downstairs the upstairs room shakes and the noise travels throughout the building. Patrons in the bar shouted deep into the night, and there is no sound baffling from the main road...

I was looking forward to returning to the White Swan - this time to try out the George Suite. First impressions were again very favourable - the room is magnificently appointed with a large lounge/dining space set out with traditional English style furnishings. However the experience was rather ruined by the amount of noise we had to suffer there. Every...

For a 70th birthday treat for our friend we thought we would book two nights at the White Swan Hotel in Greytown in the Wairarapa. Close to Wellington with a scenic drive over the Rimutakas to get there. Two nights spent at the hotel with 3 relaxing days filled visiting Masterton shopping, golfing and Martinborough for dining and shopping. Toured...

I booked the Madison suite for a night for our wedding anniversary. The room alone is normally $285 a night so I opted for the package deal of $399 which includes 2 200ml bottles of Wine, a 3 course dinner for 2 and breakfast. Upon arrival first impressions were quite positive. The room is large and has a nice big...

I've never stayed here, but would love the opportunity. I've visited numerous times when over this way and enjoyed a wine on the verandah under the warmth of the sun. It is a lovingly restored building and has an interesting history having been moved onto the site in more recent times. Have also lunched here on several occasions and found...

We used a voucher brought on a discount website for this night away so paid half the usual price. This made it excellent value for money. The George suite is wonderful with period furniture. Doors open onto a balcony receiving both morning and the afternoon sun. The bed was comfortable and bathroom large with both a bath and shower.

Had a table in the bar area which was a bit noisy as a pre-wedding group on one side. However the meals were nicely presented - pork belly was very tasty, fish & chips looked good but fish not so good. Service was good but perhaps expected a bit more from such a well known establishment.
