Situated in a prime spot near the beach, Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough draws mixed reviews, with its location often praised by guests. However, many visitors report that the noise level can be problematic, citing nightclub sounds and traffic. While some aspects of the rooms are commended, particularly the views, issues with maintenance and outdated decor are also noted. Travelers frequently express disappointment with the hotel's amenities and service, finding them lacking and at times slow, which, along with the need for refurbishment, leads to a consensus that the hotel may not offer the best value.

Given that the location was the star of our stay unfortunately, that was the main feature of the hotel. I believe that with a bit of new and vibrant colours, textures and lots of TLC, the hotel will speak for itself but the change has to be the focus for a new success. The customer service was average and needs to be better and show more interests and character to the customers communication(s) needs and requirements and also to the stories that the patron shares, they need to recognise that to be able to build an understanding relationship with the customers which in this case, was not actioned. The rooms were average and tidy but still requiring a lot of attention and TLC, the bar and dining areas are dated and require more colour, vibrancy, new carpets etc...these changes will then, explain and justify the high rates per night. I hope this is helpful to the hotel team. Thank you.

Kz and I spoiled ourselves with an unforgettable Easter long weekend (2 nights) a few weeks ago at the Rendezvous! Our room on the 18th floor had breathtaking beach views, and the balcony was the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. The family-oriented pool was a hit with the kids, especially my son Kz, who couldn't get enough of it. The concierge was exceptional, extending our check-out time so that Kz could enjoy the pool a little longer.

The breakfast buffet had a wide selection, including an automatic pancake machine and a chocolate fountain. Kz was thrilled with the hot chocolate and mini marshmallows, even if it was at an additional cost. The location is unbeatable, with bars, restaurants, cafes, and pubs within a 5-minute walk and the beach just across the road. The underground paid parking was also convenient for us as we drove our car.

Kz enjoyed the experience so much that he's already asking to go back! #Rendezvous #FamilyFriendly #BeachVacation

The hotel was in the middle of a renovation when I stayed - which was well noted on the booking and checkin etc. However the noise was a lot louder than I imagined the next morning - you wouldn't be able to sleep through it if you're a late sleeper or do work. I don't think the price reflected this - I think the rooms are overpriced.

The room was 'fine' nothing special. Dated decor, so interested to see what the renovations change. Bed was comfy and the curtains blocked the light out well. The balcony had no furniture and was really dusty - I know its right on the beach but giving the rails a wipe over should be part of the daily housekeeping in my opinion.

I stayed on a Thursday night when the night markets are on so great to be right in the middle of it all.

Parking was available under the hotel at $25 per night - not sure how safe it is to leave your car on street parking.

Great location especially in summer, excellent coffee shops and bakeries near by.

Room wasn’t ready a minute before designated check in time, staff were quite rude and there appears to be a language barrier in some cases. Staff had no knowledge of the local bus services/ car hires or really any local knowledge or recommendations at all. The hotel overall is very dated and not accurate of the pictures. The rooms have no outside furniture so you can’t enjoy the view. Very noisy generator constantly. Shower gel was watered down, mini bar is overpriced and you have to pay $35 or so to watch a film for 24h. Windows all need a food clean in the bar/ food area to enjoy the view- can’t even take a picture through them. One of the only positives is the shower pressure was good and the rooms were relatively clean minus the dirt in the corners of the carpet, bed was comfy. Overall I was disappointed and glad to only be staying 3 nights of our trip, I would not stay again.

I am currently staying at Rendezvous Hotel Scarborough, and the experience has been highly disappointing, particularly given the premium price.

After booking, we received an email informing us of renovation works and the pool closure—details that were not disclosed prior to booking. When we raised concerns and enquired about cancelling upon check-in, we were told the full price would still apply if we cancelled. This lack of flexibility, despite the significant disruptions, is extremely frustrating.

The challenges began before we even checked in. The main entrance is closed for renovations, with no signage to indicate where to park. We spent over 15 minutes driving in circles before my husband had to leave the car in the 'drop-off' area to ask for help.

The room itself is a disappointment. The bed is uncomfortably hard, making it impossible to sleep well, and the air conditioning is broken, leaving the room stuffy and unpleasant. To make matters worse, our balcony has no furniture and overlooks the closed pool, which only adds to the sense of frustration.

The closure of the pool is a major issue. While passes to a nearby public pool are offered, this is not an adequate substitute for the luxury pool experience advertised. Most guests booking a premium hotel would not expect to swim in a crowded public pool instead.

This stay has fallen far below the standards expected from a hotel at this price point. The lack of transparency and inflexibility regarding cancellations has made the situation worse. I cannot recommend this hotel in its current state and will be looking for alternative accommodation for the remainder of our stay.

Dear MSPM, Thank you for sharing your feedback on Tripadvisor of your recent stay with us. Firstly, let me apologise that the communication of the hotels current upgrade projects were not communicated to you upon arrival. I will be investigating this as the hotel has sent out several notices of the works to all incoming guests prior to arrival. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. The hotels pricing reflects the upgrades and hope we can welcome you back in the near future. I will also be investigating the other areas you mention including the bed. We have a rolling bed upgrade program so will find out why and when this bed was not done. Thank you again for your feedback. Warm Regards, Rhys Challenger Executive General Manager

I saw a special for this hotel so thought we would give it ago for a weekend stay.
The special was an ocean view room with daily cocktails and daily breakfast.
On checkin the girl was very friendly she gave us 2 cocktail vouchers and then advised it was only 1 per day per person I thought that was ok 2 cocktails then she advised they are only to be used in the lobby bar for a Aperol spritz or a cosmo or can use in the pool bar for a slushy.
The cosmo at the lobby bar was terrible worst I’ve ever had and the pool bar never opened while we were there. People had their own eskies filled with their own drinks. There was no signage as to what time the pool bar opened.
When going into our room we were a bit disappointed as the special was ocean views so I thought we would be ocean side of the hotel but we were on the side so still had a view of the beach but more so of West coast hwy. which was very noisy but that can’t be helped. The room was comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant but unfortunately that was not the best my fish was over cooked and was hard and rubbery my husband steak had a really strong bad smell to it. He did eat some of it but couldn’t stand the smell of it. The chips were really good.
Breakfast in the restaurant was really good. The pool was ok it is dated and slightly run down and no shade and no seats left as people leave their stuff all over them. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. All in all our stay was enjoyable.
Lots of places near by to eat and drink at and right on the beautiful beach.

This is a hard review to give after staying here a few times previously and loving it, but at the moment it's very overpriced for what you get. So much so that we started a list of shortcomings while we were here. We're just a few hours from checking out right now but here's a small list of what we've found so far:

*The view is amazing and the location is fantastic but unfortunately that's pretty much where it ends.
*There was cigarette smoke almost everywhere we went including sitting on our balcony, so much so that we had to go inside and close our balcony door but it was too late and the room already stank of smoke. Also while in the pool area there was a heavy cigarette smell .. we informed the staff about it but they didn't really seem to care at all.
*The breakfast was very ordinary for the price they ask, we walked in to have a look at the selection then went a few blocks down the road and got more food for half the price!
*Couldn't help but notice cobwebs in the stairwells and other places we walked around in the hotel, seems petty but is an issue especially when your partner is arachnophobic :/
*The escalators by Scarborough beach exit were hit and miss but not working for most of our stay. Hope you like talking stairs with everything else you're carrying for a beach day.
*Other reviews have mentioned the extremely limited shade in pool area and yes this is a big one, we would have spent a lot longer there buying the overpriced cocktails if there was a nice cool spot to sit in, but nope just a few select lounges that people had come early and saved for themselves.
*The pool bar times were extremely limited, so much so that we never knew if they would be open or not when we went. We came down at 7.20pm on a Thursday evening to have a quick swim and a cheeky cocktail but they were already closed. Bit rough.
*Also there is a ridiculously long wait for food service by the pool and what we eventually got was pretty naff for the 11 dollars they charge. Took almost 2 hours just to get some chips and aioli delivered.
*The lamp in our room wasn't working which left us in the dark, literally.
*Staff behind the front desk seem more involved with conversations about their personal life than dealing with customers... We stood there for awhile before they even realised I was there and needing assistance.
*Nothing in the way of customer loyalty, we booked 2 nights and then asked if there was any chance we could get a third night since we came all the way from down South only to be told nope they're all full straight away - felt like they didn't even try to look for another room or put any effort in at all. Sad.

We don't normally complain about things but when you are paying over $250 per night you expect a little bit more. All in all I would find it very hard to recommend this place to anyone as it is right now.

Check in staff were not very friendly at all. My wife & I booked a particular package and received almost none of the things included until we had actually requested them. These things were all included and promised on arrival such as welcoming amenities in the room, early check in was not available as promised until we stated that this was actually promised and our room was then changed. The “uninterrupted ocean view” promised was actually interrupted by the hotel itself as we were around the side. We were initially charged for food that we’d intended to be purchased with the voucher included in our room until we actually corrected this. Room was very underwhelming and the wardrobe wasn’t working properly. Don’t book this for anything special as I’d contacted the hotel twice beforehand to try and arrange some special extras for my wedding night but received no response whatsoever. Average hotel & average stay.

Having paid almost AU$400/night for a family room, I was expecting a level of comfort and amenities commensurate with that price point. Sadly, Rendezvous did not deliver. The room felt tired and on the small side, and lacked many of the amenities that are pretty standard in hotels charging much less - No bedside power points (there is one hidden under the bed but it was not securely attached to the wall so I didn't dare use it), no bathroom amenities apart from big bottles of generic shampoos etc bolted to the wall. TV was old and basic, and the remote control needed new batteries, which my wife went to the front desk to get as when she tried calling (twice) no-one answered.

Breakfast was OK, but again, I have had much better at cheaper hotels. pastry selection in particular was pretty poor.

On the bright side, staff were very friendly and helpful - no issues there!

I believe there are plans to renovate this hotel, which can't come soon enough - Until then, I'd steer clear unless there is a significant change in pricing to more accurately reflect the standard of the hotel in its current state.

I think the Premier Ocean could be the rooms that face the beach side on for views & the Deluxe beach front ones are at the front of the hotel & so face the beach front on for view? Sorry that's just a guess though. I've stayed in Premier Ocean a few times & always had great view.
